Default Five Hundred VS Sable

I know you guys miss my street race stories so now that I am sans Mustang I'll tell you about the knock down drag out race I got into with

my

wife!

We both had doctor appointments (yep, gettin old!) and took both cars. Her's, a 2008 Sable sporting 265hp and my poor same size car Five Hundred with it's monsterous 200hp.

On the way home we are at a stop light by our house that is a two laner that will merge into one lane about 1/4 of a mile past the light. While at the light my wife opens her window and yells at me, "hey old man, lets see what ya got!". I know this is a lost cause but what the hell I tell her "you bet old woman, run what ya brung but ya better hope ya brung enough!!" What can I say, I have my pride..

She laughed and the light turned green and 29 years of drag racing put me out of the light a good car plus in front of her. I held this lead until that damn engine of hers got on the cams and she walked right by me.

BUT, my under-powered Five Hundred was in front for a good part of the run! Since my Mustang is gone I may trade this beast in for a new Taurus with the twin turbos. Depends on work, I'm waiting for Spring, since I can't have my fun car plus daily driver the Mustang is out. If my job doesn't end this year and we some how make it through this rough road, then that damn twin turbo will be mine.

Then I'll show the old witch where her old lady car is on the food chain!

Hey Stkjock! 11.8's! You da man! The guy who bought my Mustang has installed all the gauges I wanted to install plus a lowering kit. He doesn't race though.

Have a great weekend guys!

good luck in getting a SHO - I wanted one but the wife wanted a car to seat 6 or more so a Flex now sits in the driveway!

Thanks for noticing the new times!

Those Flex's are nice, but huge! Congrats on the purchase! AND congrats on getting that sucker into the 11's! I'm working three jobs right now to make what I used to make working one, life throws you a sucker punch so you roll with it. Hopefully things ramp back up so I can contribute my part of the economy buying cars and parts again!
Hopefully I can meet up with you guys more, I missed more than my fair share because of work, I guess if I'm out of work that will no longer be an excuse.

There will be another Mustang someday in my garage and you guys will go back to laughing at my kills or killed stories. I may be 80 when it happens but it will happen!
