It is Wed. now but I am just now posting about this weekend and some deaths I received.

First, Fri. night I go out and am cruisin. An Eagle Talon w/ def. turbo pulls up next to me and a guy w/ a Jason mask starts yelling Sh*t about me and my car. I am happy to race him but they refuse to follow me. Later that night at the local gas station I find them and they turn out to be guys that I have talked to before. It is all good so we set up a race. I run the Talon and get CRUSHED. I had a bad start and I then find out that he is an AWD Talon w/ 17 p.s.i. of boost in that engine. How much hp is that for Talon??? That has to be a lot. oh well

Next night, this leads to a future post of mine but I ran against a silver LS1 Camaro. Again, it materialized from the gas station. Same track but different car. Those Ls1s are pretty quick. He took me by about a car length to 1.5. Does that sound about right??? I got a pretty good start and took him in first and part of second. From there on out he started pulling hard. I do realize that if I get PI intake and PI heads I will not run out as quick in the top end. How much would this help against those damn 5.7Ls???

Oh well, there will be next weekend. wink wink. Just wanted to post these two deaths.

 

yeah man.. them talons can be mean *****. cheap to make monsters, not the most reliable cars though.

Was it a 1st gen or a 2nd gen?
If it was a second gen....the stock T-25 cannot handle 17 lbs of boost, so he prolly upgraded to a 14b or a 16g...something like that. Thats why he would have taken you so easily.

 

It was not the '97 body style. It was the older version. I will be honest that I dont really know the Talons too well.

 

i don't know them either. i just got taken for a ride in one that was just nuts (friend of a friend). the guy said he had to replace shat in it all the time though. it's not that it cost him a lot of money to replace and fix things, it was just the time involved to do it. but dayum, that thing hauled some ****!

 

They def. could move. I guess the AWD also helped cause he got the jump on me from the start.

 

with 17 psi he probably ran around 250-275 hp., if he had better exhaust than stock. I had a red '91 AWD with around 15 psi, 3 inch exhaust. ran 13.9 1/4 miles, and it was an automatic. dont get me wrong, i love mustangs, have an 86 GT (89 5.0 h.o. engine) lightly modded and a 68 coupe for cruisin, but the talon would take either off the line thru about 50(2nd gear ) with AWD. had to sell the talon, though. cracked the block, and used 2.0 turbos were like $1200! around here i can get a 5.0 for a few hundred.
