He would be pretty lucky to throw a rod and not damage anything else. And if you are gooing through all the hastle of a rebuild, might as well get a stronger/larger/stroked block as well
I'm not sure how easy it is to repair that hole on the lower side of the block either. I'm with you Doc, might as well go ahead and build the hell out of it while its out, or do an engine swap.
Ya i figure i will do it right if i have to. I wanted to build up the engine eventually in a couple of years, but not now. I am leaning toward the aluminator, adding 60 lbs injectores, twin disc clutch, gt 500 pumps, and a 3.0 pulley. I think that along with a cai should put me around 520 whp. I am going to have to save for a couple months while the car just sits.
What really sucks is i would have at least like to hit an 11 once before it blew. It's funny it had to blow on the pass that would have been an 11.
you'll need a new short block for sure.... just do your research on the builder... and get a lower compression engine to take advantage of our blower on the new set up
