So at the Endless Summer Cruise in OC Md. My friend in her 06 350Z auto. pulled on me at a red light, in my 20 Yr. old, 160,000 mi. stock GT. She has been tellin me how she is gonna blow me away,,I thought she would???
Only went half way through 2nd gear (didnt want a ticket),, we were side by side the whole run,, I thought those Z's were bad.. Maybe the Mustang is?

 

Well...sounds about right. She might have pulled it out in the triple digits but through the 1/4 mile you guys should have been fairly close. Nice race.

 

An '06 auto vert Z ought to be a high 13 second car right? Or did they vastly improve in '07 or '08?

Either way, in the quarter mile she'd pull you pretty hard up top, you only went through 2nd, which is what, 40ish mph?

 

The HRs were 07+ models...they seem to be A LOT quicker... a great pass for that year 350Z he ran would probably be a high 13 though with a manual.. the autos I believed were solid low 14s... maybe I am wrong on that though. (Just trying to explain what I was thinking when I posted. haha)

 

Race at freeway speeds and see if you will keep up.

 

No, that's what I was thinking as well. I knew they went from high 13 to solid mid to low 13 second cars sometime around '07, but I was thinking maybe it was '06 instead.

If it was the slower one, and an auto, then perhaps it could be close at low speeds, but I'm still certain OP would have been pulled pretty solidly as speeds rose.

 

Exactly what I was thinking... Foxbody probably traps mid to low 90s in the 1/4....350Z near 100. Up top would be ugly.

 

I dont know what either of these cars are supposed to run through the 1/4 mi., I'm sure she would drive past me up top (freeway speeds), so I told her lets take it to the track,(1/4 mi.).

I have a set of street slicks, if I added that and cold air, think that would be enough? Maybe I should just drop it , I'd never hear the end of it if she beat me. Bitch!
