Default 1/4 times = hp

dont know if this is the right place to post this but anyone have an estimate of 1/4 mile times to how much rwhp it should take to get there, i know it depends alot on suspention and driver but looking for general numbers.

Well you can't exactly coralate hp numbers to E.T., hp would more accurately be shown by trap. There are people whose E.T. is terrible, or really good for their known hp numbers. Trap speed would be an accurate indication of hp.

my trap speed was 108mph and i only had a 13.2 1/4mile. If going by what vortech says i should have 380 rwhp but i dont think its right. Im going to the track next week so hopfully with the new tune and suspention parts i will be low 12s

Well you'd have to post your whole slip so we could see exactly whats going on. An average bolt on S197 GT throws down like 310 whp and will trap that high. 108 mph could be good for high 12s, but like I said we would have to see what your e.t. and trap is at the 1/8th, the 330', the 1000', and your 60' time as well, that would help accurately describe whats going on with your run.

But with 380 whp you should be trapping a lot higher than 108, but you'd need a dyno tune to get a good gauge of where your hp numbers are at, with that trap I'd say you had no more than 310-320 whp.

ok found my slip
r/t =.242
60= 2.069
330= 5.695
1/8=8.622 @85.78mph
1000= 11.116
1/4= 13.207 @ 108.28 mph

this was the first time ive been to the track, on the chip from vortech and a small burnout with street tires.

im a little worried now since i did the ait relocator when i stomp on it i get a little delay, im going to try a higher rev off the line and sometime next spring get a dyno tune. I have a mail order supercharger tune from blowbyracing and i almost feel like the car is slower with it but im going to switch them and compare at the track.

Honeslty I'm thinking that the mail order tune is no good. Im no expert, but from the look of it you're slip is right on as far as you picking up 22 mph on the big end, and pulling a 2.0 60', but honestly that looks nothing like a 380 whp car's slip.

The shop that tuned my car (Alternative Auto) was one of the first Vortech dealers in the country. They have done numerous installs and dyno tuning, and basically told me the Vortech tune is crap. With that being said, you definantly need a good custom dyno tune to get the most out of your setup.

Yeah, no way your car is 380 rwhp with that time slip, unless you are racing up on a mountain. I also suggest a dyno tune.
