Well last night I got a race in with a C5 Vette from a 35 roll and a 40 roll. After talking to him a little bit he was starting in 1st gear for each run which apparently takes him to around 50mph which is just crazy first of all, and second of all puts him right at peak power for the hit. First run I honk it off and on the 3rd honk he jumps out about 1/2 a car on the hit. He maintains the lead until I grab 3rd then I start reeling him back in. By the top of 3rd I am even with him and pulling hard. I grab 4th and get another 1/2 car to 3/4 of a car by the top of 4th and we shut down around 125mph. After hearing that he was going from 1st I kind of wanted to do a 15mph roll just so that I could pull him harder but at that point its just a matter of epeen. We did a 2nd run from 40mph that pretty much duplicated the first run results. I was actually surprised that I kept pulling even in 4th with the aero advantage going to the vette, but was even more surprised that he hung with me as well as he did. Although, if it was a 15mph roll I'm sure i would have been able to put 2 cars or so on him.

 

Nice kill. If he's relatively stock (or mild bolt ons) it doesn't surprise me one bit. What are his mods?

Nice win. I'm suprised he didn't do a little better top end also. The stock stick shift C5s around here will still trap 114 to 115 thru the 1/4.

Said he was stock with the exception of nitrous but he wasn't tuned for it so he wasn't running it.
