Come off at idle....anything higher and you're gonna blow the tires off. Line up and slip the clutch until it grabs, then nail it.
98ls1 said it. Ride the clutch. What was your mph?

when i had my stock gears i could rev to about 2000-2300 and hook up fairly well any higher i would spin through first my 60ft were 2.2's now that i have 3.73's i can tell itll be a little harder to launch ill find out tommorow night but yea lower your tire pressure if you have stock 245/45/17's try lowering to 23 or 25 thats what i did and that helps heat them up by a quick burnout first and see what happens just ride the clutch til you can feel it hook then open her up thats what i do

well you could up the pressure in ur froint tires, and lower the rears to about 20 at lowest. do a small little burnout without going on the water just to clean the tires, i take off from around 2200 you will just have to try and see what works best for you.

This is with your 04GT? Manual too?

Your 60 foot times are horrible. How fast can you shift? Even spinning bad your MPH should be considerably better than that.

Practice practice practice. You should find a place to launch your car, start by leaving at idle and work your way up, leaving as quickly as possible with as little wheel spin as possible.

yes, this is the 04. and i have been driving these for about 11 years now, so, i would say that i don't shift too bad. and the car did this in first and second gear. it just felt weird because no matter how many times i ran the car, it did the same thing.

All-season street radials are pretty much useless for drag racing and will kill your ET, but like Dan said your MPH should be unaffected by that. In good weather I believe your car should trap high 90's, close to 100.

Your car should be trapping 98-100 mph. My best mph trap was las week 101mph but i got a couple of mods more than you do. Keep working on it. My 1st time @ the track was also a disaster. Not as bad but not what I expected. Keep going and practicing.
