Default bad day at track, help

i have a 03 gt with exhaust and a vortech v2, 5 spd, everything else is completely stock. i was running on m/t radials. this was my first time at the track, so i wasnt sure what to expect out of it, but hoping for low 13's. i only ran 3 times, and my best was a 14.0! i was very dissappointed, the m/t's hooked up fantastic, but as soon as i launched my car would bog all the way down to about 2k rpm, and i would have to climb back up. my 60' was a horrible 2.26. it almost felt like my traction control was on when i launched, but obviously i had turned it off! any ideas on whats goin on feel free to share!

Damn bro, that doesn't sound right at all. What RPM did you launch at? 3.27 gears? Where did you shift?

If you can, post up your slip so we can possibly see where your weaknesses are....

You ran a 14.0 with a Vortech 2V? You should be running high 12s I would think.

Hmm, need more info like pointed out above, but at first take, I'd say you need to come out with more rpm and/or slip the clutch some. What clutch are you running?

i will try to answer all the questions, it has no suspension mods, stock 327 gears, stock cluck, basically everything is stock on the car except the exhaust and supercharger. the tires have about 20 psi in them, and i launched at about 3500k. i do not think traction is the issue at all, i launched hard with barely any slippage, and i shifted at red line. i will try to get the slip posted tonight when i get home

This is your problem. 3500 is way too low for your application. You don't get much low end with a centri charger, especially with 3.27 gears. You should be leaving closer to 4500-5k RPM with your set-up. If you end up getting 4.10s, then naturally you'll need to back off the RPM on launch.

Gotta agree. I have to leave at 4.5 to 5 grand to get a good sixty. I'm on 3.60 gears but that tiny little motor and turbo need all the help they can get out of the launch.

yeah it is tuned, and i did upgrade the injectors and pump and everything else that goes along with the vortech. although someone told me they saw white smoke come out of my tailpipes when i shifted, so maybe the tune is messed up. i was kinda scared to launch at a higher rpm since my whole suspension/axle/transmission and everything else is stock, didnt want to break anything. here is my timeslip though

r/t = .108
60' = 2.263
330 = 6.130
1/8 = 9.210 @ 79.47mph
1000= 11.850
1/4 = 14.042
mph = 103.47
