Default Hangwire Vs Stone629 *Vid Inside*

What up MFer's. Hangwire and myself finally got together this evening and did some roll races. We did one from about 55 mph to 125 and the other from a little slower speed to 120 or so. He is an automatic 03 GT with a J-Mod, Mac Cat-back, and a canned tune. I'm pretty sure he'll jump in here with details about his car pretty soon. Both runs turned out about the same. I rode in his car and to me it pulls much better from 0-60, but we didn't have a good spot close by to do any dig runs unfortunately. Anyway, here are the two vids we got. Sorry for the shakiness, I was holding the camera with one hand and shifting with the other, lol.

Bye bye two valve!

Weve been talking about getting together for some runs for the heck of it lately and made it happen this evening. Love stone's S197 and I expected a slaughter, just not that bad! LOL.

BTW Stone that sound.....I think I am for sure missing big time. I have never ever heard that ping sound so pronounced like that. I'm probably gonna buy a new COP and start switching it out with each cylinder on the drivers side bank. There is a very distinct pinging sound when low in RPMs in OD/3rd it was getting loud on the way home. It clears up some when I give it good throttle but its still there.

Either way fun runs and hopefully I can get this misfire figured out and have my blower on by the end of May and maybe we can change this story :P

Watch out for those heroin needles!

Very cool. That was a pretty big beat down. Nice job working the camera and rowing gears Stone.

For now i'm not putting **** on my car until this ping is fixed. I'm kinda bummed and dont really understand why this ping randomly showed up this evening. I mean I know I stomped it with stone in the car RIGHT after retuning it with my SCT handheld, but I even commented to stone "WTF is that?." But once I do I have plans to have Fastlane Motorsports in Benson, NC to tune it. Stone has had some work done at this shop and they have gobs of experience with all kinds of Mustangs. You can see a ton of youtube footage of the work they have done if you go through their site.

I'll probably get a vid up in the 4.6L new edge section of the ping. But i'll be shocked if this isnt a misfire it has all the signs. This is bothering me.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I guess I'm considered a multi-tasker? Once Hangwire gets his Whipple slapped on and tuned, I'm sure it will be just as ugly for me, lol.

Hangwire, that ping sounded like timing or an octane issue. It was definitely only coming from the drivers side head, so maybe it is just a misfire in one of the cylinders.

Hangwire, I know we were talking about you running my cousin's 96 Cobra... here is a vid of he and I running against each other at the track. It should give you an idea of what he's doing in the meantime. His best pass was either a 13.4 or 13.5, but he averages 13.6 at 104 mph. He has DRs, intake, ORX with magnapacks, all else stock (He has a ZEX kit, but still hasn't hooked it up for whatever reason). With gears and a decent tune, he ought to be able to stay on my bumper. I start pulling on him usually around the 1/8th. I'd love to see your car hooked up with full bolt-ons and some gears too, just out of curiosity to see how much closer you would be, but the KB will no doubt be much more fun.
