Ever driven any super cars? Say, Ferrari, Murcis', Porsches', Audi R8s' etc? 6 years in the making, you must be priviledge to do so, atleast I would think so. I'm asuming you examine only American made vehicles.
And how the hell do you land a job like this? haha I'm 19 going to JC, and at the moment, not being able to pin point my path to succes yet, but I guess landing a job like that requires for someone to have been around cars their whole life huh.
2.0 genesis looks like a fun car to drive. 4cylinders, but still quik.

the V wagon is coming...im not exaclty sure when.
nascrchi, it is a hard field to break into. i was writing freelance for magazines and for my forums for years and when i tried to get media access, i got the reply of "youre not media..youre from a forum". Ive been with the examiner for about 13 months now and while it is still a battle, things have gotten a little easier.
Ive not had any european exotics to drive through my writing but ive had access to see them up close and in person. At media days for the big auto shows, the velvet ropes are usually not there, so we can climb around in cars and get a close look.
Companies like Ferrari, Lambo, etc arent so interested in handing someone a 300,000 dollar car for a friendly review...they get good reviews no matter what. also, there is the concern of liability. For audi, ive been in contact with them with the intention of scheduling some test vehicles during this year...but i wouldnt expect an R8. i know that they do sometimes have those high end vehicles, but they dont keep many of them in media rotation. even vehicles like the caddy wagon, i had to get on a list and wait a bit.
its a good job...the pay isnt always great, but the perks can make up for that.

Ive gotten to the point now where Ive had people recognize me in public. I was at SEMA a couple years ago when an article about me and my wife debuted in a new magazine, at the SEMA Show...I didnt even know that it was being unveiled at the show, and I wrote the cover article and had the feature about us...i was in a subway in vegas when these two guys kept looking at something in hand, then at me..obviously talking about me. finally, one of them came over and held out the magazine open to my picture and said "would you sign this?"
We were there for a week and the company handed out cases upon cases of the magazine and by weeks end, quite a few people had said "hey isnt this you".
With me examiner column, at local car shows last year i had several people walk up and introduce themselves as a reader of mine...and i know that i have quite a few readers from MF, which i appreciate!

Hahahahaha that's funny. That kid was probably like "dannnnnnng I spent like tons of money on a fart can exhaust and I stilll lost!" I'm just assuming it had one of those loud exhausts cause 99% of the kids with their civics here have them. Which btw if your car is loud it automatically means it's fast, or so they think. This is irrelevant but that story reminded me of yesterday when I was cruising around - on a semi-busy road three kids, probably 8th or 9th graders (around 14 years old I'd guess) were walking on the side of this street I was on. I was probably 50 yards away (going ~30mph) when two of the kids decide to walk out right in front of me and another car going the opposite way. I was thinking to my self that this kids must have a death wish... so I come to a complete stop and wait for them... 15 seconds later they've progressed like 10 feet across the road (of course walking diagonally to **** everyone off) and finally after 30 seconds they get across the road and one kid is just staring at me in the eyes so I drove SUPER slow passed him and stared right back at him all the way until I couldn't look back any further. I dont know what posseses kids to act like that lol.
