With the right cam, you dont need to touch the heads for 400rwhp. And it wouldnt cost $5k for H/C swap anyways. I probably dont even have $5k in my motor swap, and it should make damn near 500rwhp once it gets dynotuned.

Awesome. Can you give me an idea of the cost so far and mods you've done?

I just do not understand why the mustang outsold the LS1 cars. WHY? The motor was apparently inferior - including the 3v. And yet people continued to snap them up over the Chevy.

How did GM manage to screw that up so bad? Were people just not that crazy over the body style of the Camaro?

I've never found the F-bodies fun to drive. It feels huge, the interior is pure plastic ****, it feels like it handles poorly (although it doesn't), the brakes are like a stair master workout and it isn't very practical. Those long *** doors are irritating as **** to ingress/egress.

Mustangs have always been a bit better at being decent at everything, and master of nothing. Whereas the F-body was a monster at the drag strip, but suffered in equal amounts at other things. That's the way I've always felt about them.

The v6. From what i know the z28 out sold the gt but the real numbers and money are in the v6 sales. That's where the mustang beat the camaro.

School me in this mythical GM speak though. When you say just a "cam" and 400whp - isn't that cam+intake+exhaust?

A buddy of mine who has a LS1 made 340rwhp on a mustang dyno with a cam, LS6 intake, exhaust and LID. That was through a stalled auto.

I'm just amazed that these ls1 cars can still hold their own even against the newest of sports cars. I just thought there would be no way it would be able to hang with the new 5.0 but the fbody does so i geuss its still pretty quick.

My old car, LS6 intake(which came stock on '00 up I believe)/LT's/stock throttle body/big cam made a touch over 400rwhp. Made a bit over 500rwhp on a 100hp dry shot. Probably would have seen 550rwhp/600'ish rwtq on the wet kit that was on it when I sold it. Was running low-mid 7's with just LT's/100hp dry kit/nittos/stall.

Current car made 457rwhp on motor with stock intake/stock throttle body/heads/cam/full exhaust. It also ran 10's on that setup and a 75 shot. No idea what it makes now with the 90mm intake and 90mm TB. That's through an IRS as well.

Just an FYI for jew.
