So he didn't impress you because he had an extra, lets say...200 lbs in his car? bah. <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0"> I'm lost.</p>
Sport compacts aren't meant for top speed, they're meant for autocrossing and in some cases like the WRX, straight line acceleration.</p>

190 hp vs 227. yeah that's a ton more hp. how do you know he was really opening it up? Coulda just been holding beside you to toy with you. But again, they aren't built for top end speed. </P>
On another note, the WRX weighs in at just over 3000 lbs, I doubt the Maxima weighs much over that itself.</P>
What year is your Maxima?</P>

My Maxima is a 1997. It has a hybrid intake and 2 3/4 exhaust. To be a family car, it would flat out move. I have no idea if he was opening it up, its not like racing a muscle car where you can actually hear it get twice as loud. We were both teens and we were both getting side by side, slowing down to 70 or so, then gunning it to excessive speeds so I imagine he was. I do believe he was purely stock though, well he didn't have a wing or a spud gun. My point being, his car is made for speed, mine for luxory and family. The WRX, as mighty as some may think, will not hold a candle to my TA or the new GT's.<edited><editID>95LT1</editID><editDate>37951.8704861111</editDate></edited>
the 2003 cobra is like dead even with the sti in performance wize. I just received my hotrod magazine and they did a test against them both. the mustang is quicker but needs a couple mods like tires. the trap speed on the mustang was way higher though, so has a lot more potential with traction. The horse power to weight ratio on the mustang is still better though by quite a bit. they had the mustang at 13.30 and the sti at 13.29. Mustang launched practilly at idle and the sti at 6000 rpm's. On the highway i think the mustang would devistate the sti for sure.

The WRX WILL in fact hold a candle to the GTs. the new GT's run what? low 14s? Go figure so do the WRXs. Do some Vishnu uppipes and s**t and get rid of 2 of those three cats and a turbo upgrade and you're damn near 280 hp, and the WRX is lighter than the STi.

Who was driving, Fred Flinstone?? They can run much better than a low to mid 13. They are capeable of a mid 12 if you aren't a "Pretty Boy"</P>
it was in hotrod magazine that they ran it.Probably not the best drivers I guess. I know they are capable of alot more stock. But since they couldnt hook up with stock tires they only ran a 13.30. With like only 2000 they will be all over the 11's. There arent to many cars that you can do that with.
