It was Millenium Yellow. My favorite vette color.

Cruising up I-5 he pulled up next to me and got on it a little bit. I shifted to 3rd at about 70 mph and he took off. I passed him about the beginning of 4th and kept going.

A few miles later we did it again. Same result. Went longer in 4th this time and he never got close and I kept going.

This was on 10 psi which is ~475 rwhp.

I was actually surprised a little bit. Thought the C5 would have been a bit faster. I can only imagine if I had the 15 psi pulley on.



And I have to say it. I hate roll racing. I hate it. I never do it. But I couldn't resist the Vette. There is a supercharged Vette running around here, same model and color. I would like to run into one day. At the strip.

 

Nice win. Doesn't suprise me any that a car that traps 119 runs off on a car that traps 110. I hate roll racing also but I think it's growing on me!

 

The 119 trap was @540 rwhp and 3.55s.

Today was 475 rwhp and 4.10s. I bet my time with the new gears and 475 rwhp is similar to what I ran before with 540.

Very surprised honestly. 119mph trap previously with 540rwhp. I trap 117 with 402rwhp.... 02-04 C5 Z06 Corvettes trap 115-118mph so with 10psi I'm surprised it wasn't neck and neck. Although, the 01 C5 Z06 traps in the 112-115 range so it could have been one of those.

C5 Z06's can trap a good bit higher than 110mph.

 

The trap speeds are with bias ply slicks which trap 1-2 mph less than DRs. Don't know why but they do. Maybe that explains a little bit.

It's a conundrum. Without going back to the track in the state that it sits I have no idea what it will run.

None-the-less it was fun and the guy gave a nice thumbs up afterward.

 

I agree they can. But I've yet to see one trap 119.
