Default ran my 10 gt with headers only today

well it was my first time running with the headers installed today. i get to the track and its hot as hell there. my first pass was a 13.7@104 so im thinking wtf its slower than stock. i ran it a totall of 18 times today and my best was a 13.55@104. but i remembered when i took it stock it was like 46 degrees out that day so i decided to find a DA calculator online and stumbled acrossed a site that has all the tracks in the U.S. and there weather conditions for the last 10 years. i first found the day i went in april when it was stock. my stock times were 13.4@105 but when corrected they were slower 13.5@104. i guess that day is what people call mine shaft air lol. so i typed in todays et with todays weather and it came in at 13.107@107mph. so thats a 4 tenth gain with my headers and nothing else.

yeah... calculators and dyno #s are cool, but its the slip that matters. On the other hand, congratz on the headers I bet tht thing sounds mmmean! I'm sure in some cooler weather you'll put down some much better times.

well ive never done corrected numbers before but i figured today had to be pretty bad because of how slow i was running. according to the weather the DA was over 2700' today and on the day i ran it stock it was 547' so that makes a huge difference i would say

My best time with headers was two tenths faster than without. Good air is as important as traction. You really cant compare summer runs against the rest of the year. None of us are gonna hit PB's in the summer! LOL Sounded like a beast outta hell though huh? Awesome!!

well another thing is i raced another 2010 mustang gt that day 5 times and won 3 of them, he had a c&l racer intake, brenspeed 93 tune, 3.73s and drag radials. he said he ran 13.1@107 a few months back at the same track and he said my car is faster than his. on the day we raced his best was 13.65@102. everytime we raced i would gradually pull away from him. it was a blast!

Good runs. I would highly recommend an intake. I'm sure yours has become a major restriction with the headers.

yeah.. im betting even though the 2010s dont get as much of a benefit from it with stock exhaust, i'm sure that extra air helps with the headers.. on the other hand.. I was looking at pics of those headers and.. hmmm have you seen someone's before and after dynos on those? for that price range a lot of people seem to like Kooks.

are these what you got?

vs

edit: just found an article on them.. the people got a whopping 1.3 rwhp and 17.4 rwtq increase.
.. much less than most people see from kooks. this is the article: http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...o_results.html

I raced a 2010 GT on the way home the other day. It had some sort of appearance package with the black trunk panel. We went from a 2nd gear roll at about 50 mph. It was neck and neck all the way to the top of my third (wherever that is on 3.31's). I have an 08 GT with an 87 tune. That's it.

I ran a 13.7 @ 104 with a 2.4 sixty foot. Odd that your times aren't a little quicker, what was your 60 foot time?

that article is very miss leading. if u look at the graph it shows a loss all the way up to like 5500 rpms then all of a sudden a 30hp gain and tq. the guy that does my tuning told me he has dynod alot of different set ups and these were at the top for everall performance. i dont know wut happened in that article but what they claim is almost impossible. trust me they def put out muuuccchhh more power that a 1.7hp increase lol. when corrected i picked up almost 4 tenths and 3 mph without a tune. and as for the price lets jus say i bought them for a 1/4 of the price, but if i was going to spend 1000+ on headers i would of gone with kooks.
