Saab 9-3 wanted some.
I don't think it's exactly same. A Turbo is spooled by exhaust gas. By removing a restriction (The exhaust) the turbo will spool faster and get to it's optimum operating range quicker. You guys make your boost all wrong.
I'm a middle aged man and if I owned a Saab I'd want it to perform as well as it possiblely could. Just saying. Exhaust is a universal bolton not a back year special.

If I had to drive a jelly bean shaped car It'd be a skittle, then I could have what ever exhaust I wanted and nobody would say sh*t about it!!
Come on guys give him a break! he said it was his opinion and was not condemning the person. Helloo...Saabs are marketed to and popular (popular?) with middle aged persons. Its a sedan marketed to executive & executive wannabees, not the Friday night go fast crowd. Its been safety first not supercharges (hey, turbochargers doesn't sound as good) for years as Saab marketers crafted the impression of the car that formed his opinion. I'd bet if they had a tuner model at the level of an AMG or Dinan type effort no one would think of that as odd. Its just the image calls for a different level of modding other than backyard bolt ons.

I shouldn't keep giving you crap, but i am going to anyways.
By your statement i think it would be safe to assume you think the same thing about the SHO which would run circles around your car...FWIW the SAAB with very little done can be made stupid fast...

Don't assume

+1 think about it this way
the mustang was the scion tc of its day (marketed towards the same exact crowd)
so given that reason should they not be modded?
after all the mustang was never intended to be a true sports car. just a SPORTY car that teenagers and younger adults would want. (like the tc)

Back yard special is not what I said, to me that would be more of an amateurish mess. A back yard bolt on is just at a basic skill level. Meaning it leaves you more room to make a poor installation or parts choice decision. You can choose wisely or not so much. Saab cultivates an upscale image and mods that stray from that image seem out of place I think is the point. Its not about the actual performance, not for me at least.
For example this supra motor in an SN95 body of something that annoys me. Just because I'm a Mustang purist above and beyond my general love of performance & hot rod ingenuity. I took it as a purposeful insult to Mustang devotees as there was really no need to do this project...IMO.
Who the hell buys a Saab to mod? Who the hell buys a damn V6 Pony car to....well WHO THE HELL BUYS A V6 PONY CAR? Yes I yelled, for srs. Nearly as bad as those middle aged guys buying girly *** FWD Skittles and are obsessed with guys on a forum that go to Europe!!! Damn it to hell.

I test drove a 06 Saab Arc last year. I believe it was a turbo 2.0 liter. To me, it felt pretty damn quick. It had a flat torque curve. I was impressed with the car and for the money you get tons of options. Their sketchy reliability reputation kept us away from it though. My biggest complaint with it was that it didn't have a limited slip diff, so it kept lighting up the inside tire every time I punched it while making a turn. I can definitely see someone making a nasty car out of one.
It's called the LK9, small turbo and unfortunately for them not under-rated like the SC LSJ. You see a bunch of LSJ guys using the intake mani/etc off of the LK9 when going turbo.
Found this..
"The LSJ is a supercharged version of the LK9 Ecotec with an Eaton M62 Roots-type supercharger and air-to-liquid intercooler"
BTW did you know the LSJ was on the Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 2006?

The Saab 9-3 2.0T shares the same engine as you and me.
