Default FIRST TIME AT TRACK!

I have been told by someone that the track we are going to Saturday the 29th has a few mustangs like mine that can't get into the 14's. Does this mean they suck at driving or what? I can get into the 14's right? With my mods and the temp being very cool, could I possibly pull a high 13? Thanks for any feedback and guestimating...</P>

They can't drive for jack. You should be very low 14's, with traction...you could dip into the 13's.

Cool, I thought he was full of crap. If they are that bad at driving, then I should be a track hero tomorrow..<IMG src=smileys/smiley14.gif border="0"> Oh, and another question.. Will my time be affected by my reaction time at the track if its a test and tune day?</P><edited><editID>redneck101</editID><editDate>37953.5287037037</editDate></edited>

Nope, only in a heads-up race or bracket racing.

Hey guys, here are my results from my time slip. I have no access to a scanner, but I will give you all my #'s. This is my first run...</P>

R/T .519</P>

60' 2.163</P>

330 5.992</P>

1/8 9.067 @ 80.29</P>

1000' 11.701</P>

1/4 13.916 @ 101.31</P>

On this run, ironically I was paired up with a sweet WS6. He pulled a 12.7, and he had slicks. This is my first time ever to race on a real track, but I feel pretty damned good about it considering my R/T and 1/4 time. I made only one other pass today, and it was also a 13.9??, but a little higher than my 13.916. I launched at 2000, and could have launched probably at 2500 if I really wanted to give it hell. Traction was unbelievable out of the hole today, but when I went into 2nd, on both runs, I had to back out of it about a quarter throttle for a split second due to breaking loose bad. Kinda slick in that part of the track. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to include all the details.<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P>

Thanks man, I was very impressed and so was my buddies at the track. One of them have a chevelle with ahopped up 502 CI pushing 550 horses. He ran 11.40. He saw my time, and another friend told me that his words were "Damn, I didn't know those Mustangs were that fast!" Just another point for Mustang<IMG src=smileys/smiley20.gif border="0"></P>

Yep.If I didn't have to leave after two passes, I am almost positive I could have launched a little harder, and avoided breaking loose so bad going into 2nd.I think a 13.7-13.8 isreachable withmy current mods. We'll see! Honestly, I wasn't shifting as hard and fast as I could because I kept thinking about not having any transportation home if it broke. Gone for the night. Catch you next time.
