Default 5.0 vs Dakota R/T

Nothing too spectacular here, but it was fun none the less. So I'm sitting at a light, said extended cab Mopar truck pulled up on my right side. She kept creeping up, and seeing as her lane ends about 50 yards past the light, I assumed she was going to leave hard.

Sure enough the light goes green, and with my front bumper at her rear tire she goes. I proceed to go WOT, and my Eagle GT’s spin through first gear. By the top of second, around 55 I had let off and, and she was about 1.5 lengths back. Half a mile down the road, she passes me. I guess she won in the end.

It sounded good, had some exhaust work done. I’m sporting a handful of bolt ons including 3.55 gears. Best 1/8th mile time in sig. Nothing like two slow cars going at it haha.

*All testing was done on private property.

you know it's funny, I just got into an argument with a kid telling me these trucks are fast a week ago

even with an HCI these things are hard pressed to find 13's... they have a following that think because it's a 5.9L they are monsters though... not sure why

either way good kill... all their power is packed down low and you obviously trumped where the truck supposedly shines

^ Thanks man. I was kinda' surprised at the rate in which I over took it. I understand an R/T is usually a 15 second truck, but considering she started out with over 1/2 a length lead, and my "launch" was nowhere near clean... I guess I was expecting it to be a close sprint.

I remember back when I was running my 2V 4.6L I lined up with a later model 2000+ one at the track running simple bolt on's and it ran a 15.9 @ 80 something miles an hour

with your 1/8th time you should have been able to make the truck look like it was being driven by steven hawkings, blindfolded, drunk and tripping on PCP... from any speed

xD

any plans for the 5.0L?

^ LMAO! Guess your right. This was the first time I have seen the R/T around, but I would like to catch the same light with the Dodge when I'm in the F150. There is no way I would pull on it, but it would make for a closer run.

Plans? Ideally, I will keep it as long as possible. Refresh the suspension, and interior/exterior. Then get a newer Mustang(new 5.0 maybe?) After that, build a mild 302 for it if the funds permit. That will have to wait though. I have at least one more year of undergraduate work, and quite possibly another year of grad school, before the real fun begins haha.

Good run 94, its about damn time you posted a kill in this section, lol! I swear I have yet to see you lurking around the area. Considering you live right around the block from me, you would think we would of bumped into each other by now. If you were some chick I was trying to avoid, I would prolly see you everywhere. Anyway, nice kill. I owned one of those R/Ts once. Nice trucks and handle amazingly! They need the right tuner to do work. About every mod you do to the things is quickly compensated by the PCM. They can be stout though in the right hands.

'Preciate it Soldier!

Stone, haha thanks man. Those R/T's are sweet rides IMO. I had a chick from work sublease my apartment for the summer, so I've been at home the past couple of months working and taking online summer classes(buzz kill.) I should be back in Raleigh in about 2 weeks though, and my brother will be starting at State this fall. He picked up a red '00 GT a few months back, and has since put some Bullitts on it. Keep an eye out. As for kills, I try to avoid races due to the legal issues haha. I will cut loose from time to time though.
