Well I'm a FWD ricer so let me go ahead and get the excuses out of the way...

*Cheap Street tires/ didn't mess with the pressure
*Still on low boost.

Anyways I decided to go last minute and went to one of the "local" tracks..It's a 1/8 track..sucks but that's all that's close.

1st run was a 8.8 @ 93mph. I got a lot of runs in... Best run of the night was 8.3 and best trap was 94mph. Average runs were ~8.7 @ 93-94mph.

Nothing I'm really proud of but it was nice getting the experience. Now I just need to save for slicks and a wot box.....

 

Well one FWD ricer to another it's hard as hell to get the launch down on street tires. But that trap speed is pretty badazz.

 

Yeah, it deff surprised me, though it was very consistent. I know your on slicks but what MPH were you pulling in the 1/8? Cut out open, Sounded like a dump truck going down the track popping fireballs. haha..

 

I was getting 92-93 thru the 1/8 on slicks and 93-94 on streets. On slicks I'd trap around 118 thru the 1/4 and around 120 on the street tires. What kinda sixty were you getting on the street tires? Also how were you launching? I'm usally in the 2.1 sixty range on street tires leaving at 2000RPMs and riding the **** out of the clutch. I'd bet that your cars got mid 11s in it with the other mods you mentioned.

 

I want to say by best 60 was 2.2. I got the best times just launching like I was just leaving a stoplight quick like you mentioned. I was leaving about 2500rpm.

But that trap is solid power for a street 4 banger.

 

It sounds like a great track day to me. The car runs strong according to trap, the car didn't break and you were able to race without the fear of getting a ticket or killing anyone. What more can you ask for? Traction will come with tires and practice.

 

Nice work! Those are strong traps and solid 1/8th et. My Mach only trapped around 85mph in the 1/8th at 8.3 seconds with a 12.9 at 107mph 1/4, so considering how much higher your trap is, you should be wayyy faster than my Mach ever was in the 1/4. I knew your car was stout, but after seeing what it did at the track, I'm even more impressed. You did really well for your first track visit too.
