I got a 87 gt Mods: LT's and off road mid pipe mac catback, cai, 75mm maf, 70mm tb, explorer intake, 1.7 rr's, udp's, e-fan, aluminum ds, and 3.73 gears with a 4cyl tranny.

Well I just put the gears in this past weekend and today I just took the dr's off so I can get Hoosier QTP's mounted on my bogarts since nobody has wanted to play around.... Buddy of mine wanted to go for a ride since I put the gears in and got my little 205/55/16's on just to see how bad it would spin. On the way out to the High way sitting at a stop light I notice a Black Mach 1 with a stalker body kit and side exhaust coming my way so I threw a Friendly rev and he returns the favor but bust out a u-tune and follows me onto the high way... (don't know what all is done to it but exhaust is for sure and MAYBE an intake)

From a 40 roll he honks it off 3 times and we go, I start spinning w/ a light bit of wheel hop but I pull about a 1/2 a car on him and chunk 3rd and continue to pull him till his front bumper is at my back wheel then I pull 4th and he creeps back to right at my door and hold him off then shut down at 6200 in 4th (about 105)
He wanted to go again so Like a dumb a$$ I say a 1st gear roll so about 20 roll 3 honks and he's off as I'm just sitting there spinning away through 1st 2nd and a touch of 3rd and he puts about 4 cars on me
He want's to go 1 more time so 20 roll 1st gear 3 honks and we're off I peddle it in 1st and 2nd got it to half way hook pull 3rd and at this point I'm right at his fender and creeping back then he missed 3rd so that was over.

I get called up saying there is a bolt on 92 fox body that want's to run me and so I go out talk to the guy and he said it was a stock 302 with shorties mid pipe and 3.55 gears..... Found out later he has a Eldelbrock performer rpm intake x-303 cam and a OLD SCHOOL paxton sc w/ 5-6psi on it with shorties and gears and what not with the stock heads.... He said before the runs that he had some issue going into 3rd.

From a 2nd gear 40 roll we took off I heard him spin and I pulled about a 1/2 a car then he went to 3rd and fell back quick and that was the end of that. (his maf blew off so the car didn't run right) Got it put back on right after.
We went again from a 40 roll He spins off the kick I pull 1/2 a car and he shifts slow into 3rd and I put him to my back bumper then by the time he goes into 4th he has a fender on me; then through my 4th gear he puts about 3 1/2 cars on me or so (me letting out at 6200 in 4th about 105)

One of my good friends has a 98 gt with a SVO blower kit (eton m112 8-9psi in this cool weather) also a off road mid pipe cat back and a K&N cai
We slowed down to a 20 roll in 1st 3 honks and we both go to the rev limiter in 1st and he pulls 2nd and pulls about 3 cars while I'm still spinning in 2nd peddling it trying to hook I get into 3rd and I start pulling back then I hear his rev limiter thinking he missed a gear but come to find out he blew 3rd and 4th out.

Las runs My friend has a 89 coupe just rebuilt his motor put a Trick flow stage 1 cam in it trick flow valve springs, 1.6 rr's, ported gt40 heads on it, has an explorer intake, bbk cai, shorty's, x-pipe, and still has 3.08 gears :/ .....

We only did one run but that was about from a 35ish (I didn't know but he was in first still and had to **** right as we kicked it) 3 honks and he shifted falling back just a little bit, Through my 3rd I put him to my back bumper and we were locked there till I ran my 4th gear out (about a 105)..... Me and him will probably be running again tomorrow.

All in all I was very Impressed with my car tonight Since I really haven't ran too many people since I've owned the car, and every one that I've ran tonight was extremely surprised at how well my car did. Hope this means she will do well at the track next Saturday!!!

 

Sounds pretty strong. I never have any run ins.

lol and of course I didn't get any vids lol but I got enough eyes that saw the out comes lol But Aron was VERY happy about the out come he was pumped!!! He said he hasn't had a race that close in a very very long time and can't wait to do it again.
And so everyone knows Aron has the 89 Coupe with H/C/I

Your 87 is just bolt-ons? No heads or cam? Weight reduction?

Yea just bolt on's..... Stock e7's no porting was done on the intake side and it has 1.7 rr's so it almost want's to hit but it doesn't so I'd have to go with stock cam on that. The spare tire and carpet in the trunk has been removed but all the bumper supports are still there and with a 1/8 a tank of gas on my bogart Drag-on stars it weighs dead on 3300 pounds.

Before the e-fan longtubes x-pipe and gears with the DA at 2650 I pulled a 13.26@102.56 with a 1.90 short time....

And with the stock intake mani and all right when I first bought the car it put down 240whp and 306wtq

 

Cool, sounds like a pretty strong fox for minimal mods. Kind of wondering what happened to the Mach you raced. They usually trap a good bit higher than what you're trapping, but everybody drives differently.

 

From what I could tell it didn't seem like he was doing a bad job at banging the gears, but I could of got him at a bad roll (even though he picked the 40 roll) but since the 102.5 trap I've done the long tubes and the e-fan with the gears so that could of helped me out a good bit and it's felt like it too.
