HP and TQ ratings have little bearing on which car is faster.

My S197 was tuned using an SCT Handheld programmer, my Mach was tuned with an SCT chip that was burned by my "human" tuner, then literally duct taped to my PCM.

Morbid, you're crazy. Stop looking at times that Joe Blow runs with his 3.7L, most of time its the persons first time with the car at the track. It usually takes a few years before you start seeing cars put up great times at the track. Not that many great drivers have gotten their hands on them yet. The 3.7L should have a good bit more top end in it than the new edge. Also, they have similiar curb weights, the 3.7L weighs 34xxlbs and makes about 40rwhp more than the 2v.

They have little bearing? As in, without knowing those two variables, you can tell which vehicle can accelerate faster than the other?

About the curb weight...interesting...

This link from car and driver says it weighs 3453 pounds.

Hey Morbid, do you have timeslips of your GT running 14 flat, stock?

This is bull****, eveything I've read puts the car about 300lbs less than that. You telling me the V6 weighs almost as much as the GT500?

I edited my other post above yours with another link...but I'm glad I'm not the only one who also saw 3750 for a new sixxer. If you click that edmunds.com link and select GT premium coupe, it shows a new curb weight of 3603.

I'm not saying "without knowing" the power numbers, I'm saying you can't just look at the rated power and say one is faster or slower.

WHP and WTQ=not nearly enough information

^^^I was thinking the same thing brother. A New Edge GT racing a Ford Escape.. Decided not to race the Escape in the stang.. Gonna take the spare tire off the 02 F150 (weight reduction) and go hunting for a Ford Escape. Might get lucky and run into a Caravan or a Hyunda Eluntra. Will try to post vids..
