Default Took the stock C6Z to the drag strip for the 1st time

Finally made it out to the track in the C6Z. Only have had the car for about week now, so I was a little nervous out there, not having too much experience with it.

The car is completely stock on the stock GY runflats. This made for very entertaining launches. This car is very different from the mustang, it is a bear to try and launch well on the runflats.

I made 7 passes, none of which I would say were that good. I couldn't find the sweet spot on the luanch as I'd either bog, wheel hop like crazy, or spin like a mad man.

DA was between +1200-1500, my best run came on the last, which had a DA of over +1500.
Best run: 12.03 @ 120.94 w/2.11
Best trap of the day: (approx +1300 DA) 122.22 - this was hitting the rev limitor in 3rd just short of the stripe, I need to figure out if I should short shift into 3rd and then 4th and whether that will be beneficial.

Trap speed of 122+ wasn't too bad for the DA and driver experience, I need to figure out how to approach the shifts considering I hit the rev limitor in 3rd a few times. I also still need to learn which Traction mode works best for the launch, this will all come with experience. My 60' were absolute ****, the 2.11 was the best I pulled, had a few 2.4x's which is horrendous. The 2.11 60's were actually when I bogged, so there is definitely some trap speed to be had as this was dropping my rpm way down in first.

Hopefully I'll be able to make it back out in the next week or two before it gets retarded hot here.

Very cool! That's about what i've seen these things run bone stock here in MI. Like you said it must be pretty tough to find the sweet spot with that much power and stock tires.

Nice runs for a first time out! Beautiful car. Do you miss anything about your Stang?

Good times for the first trip. I would have figured it trapped higher.

Yeah the stock runflats are pretty inadequate. Will be curious to see what you think after putting some drag radials on that car especially how it launches then compared to the mustang.

I plan on doing DRs soon and modifying it. I want to get some passes completely stock though so I can see how it progresses. I'd like to get at least another 30-40 passes in stock trim.

Trap did seem a little low, I was expecting something closer to 124-125, but I'm sure once I figure out how to get out the hole decently, I won't be losing so much at the short end with the bogging that comes with either the launch (too low rpm) or after spinning and having to get out of it or short shift it to 2nd. Heat was pretty bad too as it was in the middle of the afternoon, hopefully I'll see some better DA on the Friday night TnT's.

I'm still in honeymoon mode with the C6Z. The biggest thing I miss about the mustang was the blower whine! It was intoxicating.

wait whats that? he spent 8 years and 700+ track passes to figure out drag radials help with traction?

since all of his "record bone stock" passes include drag radials im like.. meh.
