Stock C5 vs Me
Got to play with a stock C5 today... he was rolling through traffic with an M3 Vert (E46) glued to his bumper. I jumped in line and we eased our way through the countless idiots who don't realize cruising in the left lane is ILLEGAL. We eventually hit the last group of cars and the M3 jumped out and I followed... the C5 stayed in place for a moment and I pulled up on the M3 waiting for an opening. At the last moment the M3 hit the exit ramp leaving me and the C5 with some open road. I drop to 3rd around 65mph and gave it enough to show him I was willing to play. He jumped in behind and started gaining so I went WOT with him following. I stayed in it until the end of 3rd (106mph, damn I need my rev limiter raised
) and was pulling visibly [maybe a half a car in that short sprint] instead of hitting 4th I let off and moved over. He got up next to me again but traffic was getting thick again. We exchanged thumbs up and jumped back into 'normal' driving mode. He was rolling with a passenger and appeared to be a targa with no visible mods. Super clean car... hoping to get a solid run in but just wasn't going to happen sadly.

I have a nice large lightbar in the window usually people move over when I haul up behind them but the road I was on is filled with people who are either reading newspapers (no joke) or texting. I'm not sure anything will help, it's easier to just pass them up in the right lane and then cut back in front of them.
I thought the early LS1's had problems with the knock sensor, or something like that, that would kill the timing, and rob a ton of power.
I remember reading about it, some guy had a computer log, and was posting up his issues with it.
I can't remember specifically, but I think he had to swap out the ECU and some other ****, idk.

No wagon wheels on this one ... looked to be factory 2000+ polished rims.
