Snacking on and Spining with some Blown Vettes
So out with my local crew this morning and had a chance to run a bit.
First up 2010 Grand Sport with a Vortech pushing 9 psi.
I pull up along side at around 60 and drop to 3rd and hold my position, RPMs around 3500. I never considering going to 2nd (as you'll understand later) I look over and smile and my buddy returns the grin. I see him start to downshift and then hear the motor pick up the revs.
I honk 3 and we both nail it, the 4.0 Whippled Beast Rooooars to life!! Growling and snarling as the Shelby pulls out about a car lenth on the Vette. The revs build and the tach lights up red for the 6000 rpm shift warning, I hold the gear a split second longer and powershift to 4th and she jumps out another 1/2 on the shift. Winding out some in 4th I'm about 2 cars out and the traffic quickly comes up on us. I let out knowing the Mistress has put the hurt on the LS3.
As it turns out the Vette was also in 3rd. His car makes around 590 to the tire and has 3.42 gears........ for now................
Second run was with another blown LS3. Cammed, heads, exhaust, meth injection making 700+. I knew running this car would be a big challenge. My buddy slows to around 20 and I know this will be even more difficult. He honks off the 3 and we nail it. At the hit the MTs scream as 600+ ft/lbs of torque try to put the tires in motion. The radials cry for uncle as they spin furiously against the power of the Mistress. I try to pedal the car and succeeded in painting three sets of 50+ foot "11s" on the pavement as my buddy streaks away from me.
We lined up once more, I only slow to 30 this time, still a tricky speed I think at the time. He hits the horn and on the 3rd beep we are off. I roll into the throttle very slow hoping to keep the MTs from smoking their way to a painting session. The tires comply to the slow roll in and do not spin much, unfortunately the slower hit lets the Vette get the lead by about a car. I think I start to close the gap as the rpms builds to 6500 and power shift to third with him out on me a good car and she breaks the rear end loose and slides over the lane stripes and I get off the gas FAST!
All in all a good day out with the boys.

thanks, there is a vid of the last 2 runs, it will not be posted, sorry. too many of the LEOs around are now looking for vid cameras in the cars and I've heard of the memory cards being confiscated.
