My First Autocross
Made it out to an autocross event last night. It was awesome, I have never had more fun in my car and no fear of cops or other drivers. Now I need to start on some suspension work.lol Damn some of those little light imports are fast on that stuff. Hoping to make the drag strip next weekend.
If you'd like to play in parking lots as well as the drag strip I'd recomend a good coilover kit. I had them on the neon and they doubled the cars handling potential. They were also nice to play with at the drag strip by allowing me to set the rear to the stiffest dampening setting and setting the fronts to a medium setting to get as much traction as possible. You'd have to do a reverse set-up being rear drive but it should make for a better drag launch once you find the best spot for the coilovers. Dodging cones is a blast for sure.
Where was this? I wanted to try auto x, but couldn't find anything but in the Toronto area. So I went drag racing yesterday instead. Got the new clutch in and ran 15.32 considering the heat, it's not too bad. Still not impressed though.
Sorry, I just noticed the New Mexico thing....lol
