Default 2012 Mustrang GT vs. centri'd SN95

cruising for about 4 hours last night with my friend, we encounter this guy in a SN95 vert who askes "HOW'S SHE RUN!?" and my friend was like "like a 5.0!"

(even though I'm pretty sure this SN95 was a 302 as well)

anyways, I clearly heard a centrifical supercharger on it and I also smelled the distinct smell of race gas... so at this point we merge off of the cruising road to go back home... little do we know the guy followed us along with a cammed LT1 maro... we outrun the camaro easily and then he does a flyby before he gets off but the SN95 clearly wants to legit play... I told my friend that I'm pretty sure he's getting his brand new car walked and not to be disappointed

anyways, we honk it off @ around 50MPH and take it up three gears.... through the starting gear we walk him off about a 1/4 car, then through the next gear he brings his car back even with us, we hit the next gear and he's instantly about 2 cars up and it was clear he would just pull nasty from then on out so we both shut down... thing had a major top end, I do not know what the deal was with the lower gears or if he had traction issues but there was no argument on top end, thing was a monster... two cars within one gear on a new 5.0L is no joke

the 2012 has 3.73's and SLP LM's... nothing else

this is the only picture I got of the night, I was too busy acting a fool lol

Very cool! If i had to guess that 94-95 had to have more than just a blower to pull that hard that quick. Even a full HCI top end kit with 10 psi may be like 450 rwhp max.

Sounds like a monster of a sn95! Not that the 5-ohs are touched by god, but like you said, putting that much ground on one using one gear is pretty impressive. I vote for traction issues at the beginning for the older ride....

As soon as u smell race gas and hear a blower you know its gonna be a monster pushrod, chances are he had to pedal it for traction what kind of tires were on it?

you could get to 450whp thru the stock longblock without much problem. they'll take it and keep on giving. and I'd say that 450whp in a 3300 lb car vs 370ishwhp in a 3800lb car would deff give the results that you're saying. the whole time you were acting a fool in the passenger seat and you didn't get any vids?! lol :P

I agree, a 450whp 3300lb car could definitely give those results against a new stock 5.0. Chances are he was making well north of 450whp considering the race fuel, imo.

i think everyones over thinking this with the race fuel. around here there's just about nobody that actually runs it that needs it, just the people that use it for the smell. not many people go cruise around with a car that needs race fuel.

Its the opposite around here. Its expensive and hard to find it for the track, much less run it for attention. If you smell it around here, its either at the track, or while cruising behind someone else on the way to the track. I can see people doing what you're talking about in an area where there is more of a street racing crowd, or even a large crowd that cruises around, congregating, etc.
