mph to get 13s??
people say mph will tell what you run.. well i go about 94.5 mph, which normally wouldnt be a 13 second pass right? but i have 2.3 60 foots, on slicks, i should will 1.9's right??? which is .4 off the 60 foot, which is about .8 off the 1/4, so my 14.71 at 94.5 SHOULD be around 13.91 right???

im no professional but i think u need a higher trap speed to get into the 13's. and i think speeding up your 60 foot from a 2.3 to a 1.9 (which is .4 seconds faster) will yield a .4 second faster 1/4 so you will pass at 14.31.

This has been a somwhat debated topic as of late. MPH is a reflection of how much HP the car is making. The thing is, even with a great 60' the car may not have the power downtrack to make the run a good one. Gennerally a .1 reduction in 60' will result in around a .15-.2 gain in the 1/4, however with only a 94 mph there might be other things that need to looked at.

what should i be doing for mods now then??? and it was ona hot day..next race is october 15th so should be cool weather.
right now its a 1990 lx
its a 5 speed, short shifter, king cobra clutch, deleted smog pump, no air silencer, electric fan, ceramic shorties, 2.5 h pipe, flows with turndowns, 3:73 gears, and Mickey Thompson slicks. i hope to run a high 13, i currently ran a 14.71 at 94.68 and a 2.301 60 foot, which is a pretty bad 60 foot.
JD what do you think i will run now?? with the slicks.

Tough to say, I would really like to see a 4.10 gear, at least an Explorer intake and possibly under drive pulleys. Where is the timing set at? Also try and get the car as light as possible, get ride of the back seat, jack and spare etc. I think the slicks will give you maybe .4

i was running full weight, spare, jack, etc. i think its heavier than it should be.. gonna put old wheels on the front too cuz i have heavy 17x9s on there now. also timing is only stock so im gonna bump it up.
