He's probably scared he'll lose, honestly, lol. It wouldn't take much of a mistake on either of ya'lls part to fall behind and not recover. That's def one I'd love to see go down.

Judging by how he pulled you i say you still would take him on the juice. Throw some cams and long tubes in there to bring out your top end pull, and that thing will really scream on the 125 shot. Ask me how i know.

Speaking of which i just raced a cammed LS1 T/A coming back from Woodward. I'll make a thread on it in a few minutes.

I won't be there Saturday. The whole reason we went last night is because it's too damn busy on that day lol. I went one year, and couldn't even move...total gridlock. We usually go to the Back to the Bricks show in Flint on Saturday instead.

Good luck on the T/A. What's he have done?

My 98 stalled/3.73/full bolt-on Z28 only trapped 109, but my current SS is most likely trapping 107-108 in the 1/4 judging by last weekends 1/8th mile trap with just the lid.

I'm guessing you would've laid a car on him in the distance you guys ran had your spray of worked.
I'm personally convinced that the 01+ models DO produce more power and trap higher than previous years... while they had the small 'truck' cam they had a better intake, ls6 exhaust manifolds, 241 heads, pup cats, and a few other minor things. I know Evan smith pulled off his pass with a 99... and several other LS1tech members ran 12s in previous years but 'mineshaft' air was always present.. I have to believe that someone with driving talent could best my stock time by more than a mere 2 tenths and have no mph gain in the same conditions those records were set in (the track alone is said to be faster than any other in the country).

Even comparing the notes from GM regarding the C5 in 2001. (Not the Z06)
  • 300 lb-ft is delivered at 1,000 rpm - 400rpm earlier than before
  • 320 lb-ft is delivered at 1,400 rpm - 800 rpm earlier than before
  • 340 lb-ft is delivered at 2,500 rpm - 1,400 rpm earlier than before
  • Maximum torque of 360 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm (A4), 375 lb-ft at 4,400 rpm for manuals

I agree. I think the term "an ls1 is an ls1 is an ls1" is thrown around a bit too lightly, imo. The year, model, and package has to be considered. You're right about the cats too, the hump in my passenger floorboard is pointless cause I don't even have a cat there. I only have the two small cats close to the mani. The LS6 intake is good for 10 hp by itself. It also rolled out with an aluminum driveshaft and a lid as options. And of course the 3.23s. Putting those options along with all the changes you mentioned up against a -2000 Z28 isn't exactly a fair comparison.

Why did you say that. It's a legit question.
Really not wise to race in a residential area.

Not trying to preach but it does deserve something said about it.

Really people. You don't know who could be walking by and you not see them.
That is just DANGEROUS and not right to put other people's lives at risk like that.

Come on now.
If you are going to race do it smart and do it with other people's well being in mind.
Be responsible.
Even if it is a quiet residential area where kids are not out a lot. YOU NEVER know.
