Quick run.... nothing real special
So, after spending all day at the track yesterday, and such a sh!tty night at the track Fri in my car, I was itching for a lil play when I got back to town last night. I hit the strip on the hunt, and come across a yellow NE. I went by him, and when he kept going straight, so did I. I waited for him to catch up to see if he was game, then all of a sudden he gets cutoff by some little car that was weaving thru traffic, ultimately to catch up to me.
The little car turned out to be a REAL nice Vdub, GTI I guess. Nice wheels, dual exhaust, real clean car. I downshifted and gave a little gas to see if he wanted to play, and he just kept goosin it. Every time I got back with him, he'd shoot up ahead. So I motion for him to slow down and get a clean run in.
First run, from a first gear roll (4k rpms), 3 honks, we roll out. Through 3k in 3rd I had at least 3-4 cars on him. They pull up and the passenger yells out "I love your car!" lol. I yelled it dont do bad for a v6, "Damn, hell naw it dont!"
I say lets get it again.
2nd run, 2nd gear roll about 40mph (horrible spot), 3 honks and we go. He jumps out about 1/2 car or so, then the reel in commenced. I rung it out to the limiter (115mph), and he was WAY back, lol. Musta let out early, but I'll still call it 3-4 cars again.
We get beside each other again, exchanged thumbs up and ear to ear grins, and the kid yells "Damn that thing has hella topend". Then they inquire about the 0-60 times, I told'em I didnt have a clue, just what I ran at the track. I asked if it was the 2.0t, indeed it was.
Overall, real cool kids, both of'em wouldn't add up to half of me, lol, but it was good to have clean runs with some young'uns who werent all douchey. BTW, the NE was behind us the whole time, honked at me while I was turning around, but he kept on going straight
.
Nothing real spectacular, I know. But after the whooping I got last Sunday, and my horrible night at the track, it felt good to get another W in.
Cliffs: "New" 2.0t Vdub GTI, put 3-4 cars both runs
