Default fun with a 5.0

I went out quickly tonight to test out my new 93 octane/Torco + 93 Brenspeed tune and ended up with a race!

The new tune feels amazing and it definitely added some serious whp to my GT.

Lined up against a new 5.0 at a light after seeing him launching a few times at previous lights.. until we both end up at the same light. We both gun it and he takes me by about a car out of the hole. I get nothing but wheel spin but floor it once I feel for traction.. I gun it!

I catch up by the top of 2nd, reel him in and pulled way past him through 3rd gear and ended up with what looked like bus lengths on him by the top of 4th

At the next light, he gives me a thumbs up and looks over trying to figure out what I got looking curious (GT/CS w/Bullitt front grille).. we both take off at normal speeds and went different routes.

Yeah, yeah.. I know.. stock 5.0 isn't exactly fair game rofl but from the looks of things, he probably assumed I was stock as well

Sounds like a strong enough opponent to me. Good run and glad to see you got the 93 tune going!

Nope, just street tires. Z rated Maximuz tires lulz

The rear end was all over the place when the boost kicked in, usually it doesn't kick in as hard no the 90 tune...

Thanls I wasn't gonna run until he launched it a previous light and caught me off guard

I was starting to think he was gonna pull on me because he out-launched me so well.. but once I was able to lay down the power, I pulled like a freight train. The 93 tune is like night and day over the 90 octane tune!

I never assume any car wanting to race is stock, especially another Mustang.

Good kill. It sounds like it's time for some traction mods to go along with all of that power!

I am the opposite.. I always think everyone else is a mod addict as well when it comes to their cars lulz

If it has an exhaust and looks halfway decent.. to me it's a race car in disguise..

Tell me about it.. I have never really launched hard on the street before until that night and it about took out the rear end! Even when I had enough traction, it blew out the tires sideways before catching on.. but once it did it took off like a raped ape! I don't think I'll ever be doing that ever again

His expression was priceless after the race.. .he kept looking over at the GT like "wtf?"..

If you haven't got brackets on there I recommend them. Even a stock ride height car can benefit from brackets. You don't have to be lowered for them to be useful.

Nice kill stealth! I'm the same way- I always assume everyone is a sleeper, and most of the time (whether or not they actually are) I get beat lol. =(

Anyway, nice win and what tires, (stock/aftermarket?)LCAs do you have on there?
