S281 SC races?
Hey, im about to get a stock 2002 S281 S/C and I was wondering what you guys think some quick mods to do right off the bat in order to get my car accelerating quick enough to win some good races. Im deffinitely not going to go around looking for challenges or instigating anything but I would like to be able to defend my turf(especially since I have a feeling that some people will see my car and immidiatly want to go. One more question: besides ZO6s, vipers and SC cobras, are there any cars that i deffintely shouldnt mess with?
This should probably be in the pipes, boost, juice section but...
The first thing you need to find out is if you've got the series II or series IV supercharger. I think 2002 is a series II but i'm not sure. If you can post a picture of it, I can easily tell you. Either way, you'll be making somewhere between 300-330 hp at the wheels (335-365 torque). To get those numbers up you'll want to do things like, 75mm Throttle body, CAI, and exhaust. For an idea, I've got the series IV and with the following mods, (I've made 381 rwhp, 384 torque): CAI, 75MM TB, Xpipe, Catback, 2.97" pulley, tune. I got quite a bit from just the throttle body so that is definitly something to look into. The only other mod that I would recommend is upgrading to an SVT focus fuel pump. You can order it from a dealership or online. I know there is some guy (randy something) on one of the other mustang forums that sells ford factory parts for a much smaller margin than the dealerships. Be sure to get on all of the saleen specific forums and ask questions, cause those guys will know everything about the car.

My little N/A GT.
First thing I would do is find someone to port the blower. That would make the "Heaton" cooler and more efficient. I wouldnt run more than 9 lbs. I just took apart a 2002 Saleen 4.6 that had 25,000 miles on it and was pushing 10 lbs of boost and the rings were completly shot and every cylinder on the #1 bank had half a pint of oil in each one. I personally believe that the Tuner that tuned the car didnt know what he was doing and had the Saleen dumping so much fuel that the wall wash ruined the rings and im sure the heat from the blower wasnt helping any.
Just some good ole advice.

my friend with a pullied 03 cobra ran a procharged Saleen (ok so basically a GT with a blower) and tore him up terribly. I ran the same car when i was still bolt ons, and put like 2 cars on him. IMO id buy a cobra. Just my two cents.
