Default Me vs hci lt1

Didn't make it to the track this weekend but got in a quick roll with a 94 ss m6. Ported heads/intake nice cam bolt ons 4.10's and street tires. Did one quick 25 roll, both in first. He spun some and I hit limiter on the 1-2 shift. But it was a dead even race, he was at my door the whole time, until up top then he started pulling just barely. Will post a vid later, it was a closer race than I expected.

here's the vid, wasn't the best vid, my girlfriend recorded and this was her first time ever doing this sort of stuff. right at the end when he starts to pull pretty good is when i hit 5950rpm in 3rd, the nitrous shuts off. i let off soon after that.

Good run man. I know first hand what an LT1 with that set-up can do. I wouldn't expect that run to go any different. Nice work, Greddy.

Who built your converter btw?

I'm looking around. I hate to drop $650 on a yank or circle D, but most of the $300 budget converters are stock cavalier converters that have been modified to change the stall speed, and the turbines have way too much pitch making them inefficient as hell compared to a yank, etc. I'm looking for a 3200-3600 lock up, billet not necessary, anti-ballon plates a must though. I want to say dirty dog builds LSx converters though. He chimed in on a thread about rev-max converters over on LS1Tech awhile back. I need to holler at him and find out.

You're right, just checked his website and he does make 4l60 converters. Cheap too, had them listed at 425 for a 2400-5500 stall. You lucky *** lol I paid 750 for mine. I have heard good things about revmax tho, a few mustangs have been trying them lately and have said good things about them.

Thanks man, I'll check DD out for sure. About revmax, there have been some pretty heated discussions on the LSx forums about them. On one side there are all the people who have actually used them and love them, and on the other side you have people who have never used revmax, but manage to dig up plenty of dirt about revmax's bankruptcies and multiple BBB complaints. At the end of the day they build a budget converter with nothing but good reports.

my only negative with dd is that if you're in any sort of a rush go with someone else. he's sloooowwww. took him 4 months to build my converter. then when i ordered my rebuild kit he told me it'd ship out 2-3 days after i placed the order, and it ended up taking over a week to ship out.
