So im minding my own business outside the city, wanted to test this dyno/1/4mile time app I downloaded to see how close it was to my 1/8th mile time and see what kind of whp numbers it would give me. So apparently on one of the lights I took off hard trying to simulate the 1/4 mile and little did I know there was a newer style speed3 next to me. So after I let off this guy goes by me so I get even and we do several bursts from different speeds and all end up with me pulling slightly. So I finally decide to record it coming off a light going like 10mph, as am trying to get even with him he hits it about a car ahead (as you'll see in the vid), I hit it and proceed to take his car lead and put a car length or so by the time I let off. I got a race set up vs. a buddies auto 370z(stock) and another buddies 03 350z 6spd w/ a 75shot, both from a dig of course and will be on vid. Enjoy!

You got a thing against Mazdas or something? I thought they ran a little better than that personally.

And, um, won't you REALLY have your hands full against those Nissans? Can't say I know too much about them. Wouldn't a roll be better for you since you'd have that boat moving already? Just thinking out loud, good luck and get some vids if you can!

 

Lol that's all I've been running into lately, what can I do. Yes I will have my hands full but I will try my best. Apparently a buddy of mine setup a race between the 370z and a mazdaspeed3 a while back and they ran pretty even, I think the z won by a bumper. That same speed3 went to the track and ran 9.6 in the 1/8th. I ran 9.2 @ 78mph with a 2.26 60ft in the SS yesterday so I figure I've got a good shot against the Z, he's been running his mouth about my boat and how I don't stand a chance. This 370z ran the 350z with a 75shot and the Z squeezed the W on top end by less than a car. I know its kinda like ricer math but that's how I figure I stand a chance.

 

Good run against that Speed3, you pulled him pretty good!

I would try to run the 370 from a dig or at least a low speed where you can get a strong downshift.

You still haven't tuned that damn Blazer? Wth, Dark, lol! I'm telling you man, a good tune will knock a half second off your ET. Mine was running 13.7 and 8.8 with just a tune. Never did test the Efan and intake though.

 

Lol I know I'm slacking, I've been working and busy, I've got a tuner just need to contact him and schedule an appt. We will go from a dig, he's pretty confident.

 

I know he'll probably pull you up top, but I've got a feeling you're going to put a car (or SUV) on him from a dig. I could be wrong, but I'm just thinking he's going to get excited and spin while you're busy hooking and getting away from him. Def vid that race man!

 

If I pull on him decently on the launch I dont think he has enough trap to come around me. Im definitaly not taking it as easy as he is, unnecessary weight is coming off just not the spare and fuse 61 is also coming out to completely disable T/C and Stabilitrac. The thing is he rode in the truck the day I bought it and I did a couple launches with T/C and Stabilitrac ON and I also think that the previous owner or the dealer might have put 87 octane on the truck because it felt slow as *****, so he thinks that's what the truck actually runs like.

 

Def pull that fuse. That crap even showed up on my dyno chart!

The dealer did the same thing to me with the 87....bastards.

For weight, drop that 55 pound spare, jack/tools, and the passenger seat. The seat comes out very easily and weighs an absolute ton. You'll see what I mean when you lift it out of there, lol.

 

I dont want to take to much out because if I beat him he's gonna use that excuse. What's it look like when it kicks on the dyno chart, did you have it disabled when it showed up on the chart?
