Maybe something wrong with it if he wasnt in gear a significantly longer period of time than you.
No that makes sense then, from 40-140 I would have shifted twice where as he would have shifted 3-4 times depending on how long we went into 140s. He started in first and I was in second. I shift to third around 70 and forth around 103. I think forth is good up to around 150.

Hey Stig,

Nice run with the GT500.. sounds like FUN!! The close races are the best.

Just a little info for reference purposes for ya... IF the GT500 had a CAI, it had to have a tune. K&N says you dont have to have a tune with their CAI, but they are wrong. Car runs too lean and is not good for it. The stock pulley diameter is right at 3". The smaller pulley is 2.6", and adds 4psi.

My car ran 97-98 in the 1/8th with just a pulley/CAI/tune on drag radials once I figured out how to drive it. Adding a lower pulley and off-road X-pipe and it went 101.50. On street tires it would slip and slide to 92-93 mph passes. Completely stock on street tires I went 88mph.

It sounds like he had a tune & CAI, and if the blower was whining that loudly, it probably had a pulley as well... I though mine was ear piercing after adding a smaller pulley lol.

Again, really cool story. I would say a lot of the GT500 guys (if they are honest about it) are BIG fans of the Z06. I know I am...

Thanks man, yeah I love the color. I have always wanted one in Millennium yellow and it was kind of a coincidence that I just saw this one for sale one night, lol.

Yeah, I am sure he had a pulley, tune & cai after reading more about it. The whine was defiantly loud, I loved it though lol. Thank you, I am a big fan a the GT500s too. They look even better in person!

Lol... sure thing! The problem with the GT500s is that they make a bunch of power, but most of the owners dont want to push them anywhere near their limits. I unfortunately have never had that problem with anything I have ever owned

Actually going to try out the new combo this weekend I hope... time to start learning all over.
