'12 3.7l v6 vs. Lt1 'maro

'12 3.7l v6 vs. Lt1 'maro
Nothing real exciting/surprising on this one, but I always post my kill/death stories, so here's another one....
Ran down to the store for a couple things, and as I sit at the light ready to do my u-ie, I see a red lt1-body camaro at the light to my right. I dont think much of it, bust my u-ie and do my usual 1-3 run. I ease off and notice the 'maro coming up quick! He paces me as I come up to my left turn, and I figured he was gonna go right up ahead, to the 'strip'. So..... I hit my signal and eease on over to the right lane and follow suit
We do a couple first gear punches, and then I ask "wanna take it to the highway?" "Sure, I wanna see what that 3-7's got!". At another light, I ask if its a lt1 car, and mods. He said it is, and its stock.
We get to the highway, gear down to 2nd, about 40mph, 3 honks and Im GONE! I knew he didnt hear the honks or something, NO way it was that bad, lol. I slow down and he says it jumped outta gear on him, so we go again. 50mph, bad 3rd gear spot for me. 3 honks, I jump out a car, and he seems to stop my pull, until he shifts. I ran it up to 120ish, and I have no clue how many cars it was. And, I don't know when he let out.
We stop at a store, he gets out "Damn that v6 is fast!"... lulz... "Nah, but it does surprise some folks" "Damn right it does, Im one of them!"
Turned out to be a bone stock, 6spd, 130k car. He has elesjuan plans for it, but we'll see. Real nice guy, thumbs up, good convo, etc.

Thanks fellas! Like I said Stone, I have no idea when he let off. I would say it was at least 3-4 cars though. But Im thinking, mainly by his reaction when we stopped, that it was worse than that.
Being all stock, Im not too surprised. I put a couple cars on that bolton lt1 t/a back in January. I would love to see him throw a ls1 in it, that would def surprise some people!

Id hate to work on that damn thing, thats for sure! Tight as a gnats a$$hole under that hood, lol. He said he changed the plugs when he first got it.... and that'll be the last set it gets, lol. I cant say I blame him!

I know the feeling...took me 11 damn hours to install longtubes on the LS1. Plugs had to come out and it was actually easier to remove/install the rear plugs from UNDER the car! The front half of the engine is cake, it's the back portion crammed under then dash that's the damn problem, lol.

Good kill. I blame his opti. Lol. It should have been a good race from a roll.
+1 to modding the lt1 instead of swapping it out. Port the stock heads and add a cam and your near 400rwhp for a lot less than it would cost to convert everything.
