I thought road racing = racing around turns

I sure as hell wouldn't do that on a public street.
Uhh yeah, that's road racing. whoever posted this must have mistaken street racing and road racing. Road racing is the real deal multi car racing event with turns. Not some regular street racing/break the law crap.

wait..first off, lets stop bickering like a group of fuggin old women, and figure out exactly what everyone means...

road racing is what they do at laguna seca..or lemans...

i am assuming that yellow meant street racing.

and they are right to a point czw, a cobra has a little more put into it than does a stock V6...so those guys are going to have different opinions than a stock v6 driver..but im not calling anyone stock.
ROTM, that was my meaning. This all started with a post I did when I was on an OPEN highway with lots of fun twisties. I try to push my stang to the limit. HE assumes I am going around cutting ppl off, and being dangerous. NOT THE CASE. This is insane. It reminds me of the Jahova Witness coming to my door and telling me thier religon is the only one, and I'm damned if I don't agree. Well, I never will. I usually slam the door on them and go about my business. One other point here, I am NOT the one who is trying to speak for others. I just wrote about 3 DRIVERS I raced. And won against. My point was and IS, if I pass, or try to pass, and they come back after me, it's a race. If they back off cus they can't handle it, they lose. Short and sweet. So what if I have a V6, I could have just as well bought a GT, Cobra or Saleen. I have the bucks. I CHOSE a V6 cus I wanted it.

steelers...[:'(] i was so pissed off..

anyway...i really dont like the holier than thou crap here, seeing as how im SURE that everyone, at one point or another, has gotten into the throttle a little going around a corner on the highway with someone enxt to you, who you were just not going to let around you. it is one thing to call BS on a kill, but NO one on this site should be critical of others choices to street race...while im not one of these people who watched the fast and the furious too many times, who go sit at an abandoned warehouse complex with a bunch of other guys who are too cheap to pay track entry, ive lined up against people on the street a few times in my day, and if im sitting on a 4 lane road and someone revs at me in a honda with 4 exhaust tips and a stock 1.6, whether that road has a slight bend to it or not, im going to jump on it when the lgiht turns green...call it whatever you want, but im gonna try..hell, it could be someone in a new cobra, and i will at least Try to keep up...considering the way most highways are setup, they couldnt have been very sharp turns, so he probably wasnt sliding around 180 degree turns into oncoming traffic...

Point taken... I'm not talking about slight curves on the highway though. I've done that. I'm talking about fairly sharp turns to the point where you are risking getting sideways.

Regardless after my last street race i got kind of turned off... from it (The 5th race from a dig a cop drove by in the opposite direction, me and my friend drove 100+ to the next exit, we dont know if he ever turned around or not; i love to do it, but I cant take that risk of getting caught... penalties are to high for just excerlating in a straight line.

I raced another SS the other night. We took off from a light and I had him by a few cars at the top of 2nd gear, at which point a let out of it, thinking I had made my point, and we were heading into some S-curves. The other guy kept going all the way threw the curves. My question is does that mean he won? I really don't like taking corners fast when I have the dr's on and with them at 15 psi the car does not handle well, but with the Eagles on I can take corners plenty fast (I almost never do though). FWIW real road racing (like Road America) takes some ball, alot of skill and some deep pockets.

i have often wanted to take my Daily driver out onto a road course and beat it up a bit..it looks like alot of fun...

im sure that the guy you ran, told people that he won, because you left off relatively early...if i was racing someone, and they let off in second gear, and had a MTX, i would guess that they missed a gear...and got out of it...anyways, i only have 3 gears!

According to 03YellowPony, you lost. I normally dont care however i said that he didnt win because of a very similar situation and turned it into a v6, v8 battle.

How can it be a V6 V8 battle? 2 of the cars were not V8's. You still don't get the point. Let me clarify.
First, I don't race cars. I race DRIVERS.
Second. I passed them and THEY decided to try to repass me. Not my fault they don't know how to turn a steering wheel. THEY turned it into a race. THEY couldn't or wouldn't finish it. I did. I win, they lose. SHEESH!!!
Look, it's clearly aparant we are not going to see it the same way. So can we just agree to disagree?
