Default Light to light

Dang it's been boring in here On the way home I caught a light with a modded SRT-8 300....don't know the year or the mods, but he certainly had exhaust and wide Nittos. He was a youngish guy and threw me a rev. When the light turned we had a very nice gap in traffic and it was on. As you know I have problems with the launch and he jumped me by almost a car. I've found that about half to 2/3 is about all I can do without massive wheel spin in 1st and short shifting to 2nd is the only option. Of course 2nd is about the same and not WOT with somewhat short shifting to 3rd is effective. I caught him in rapid order and partway through 2nd and into 3rd was a walk. It was a nice decompression after a tough day at the VA.

Nice run. Was it a 6.1 SRT? Those newer SRT 300s look sick, not that the older ones looked bad or anything.

Sounds like you need to get some tires too. Seems to be everyone's problem here lately.

Sadly, it wasn't......it was an older one. And yes, I have been doing a bunch of internet research on tires. Trying to find a set that will work for both a road track and the strip has been pretty problematic. I'm probably going to have to bite the bullet and find a cheap set of wheels and DRs for the strip and another set of rears for the street/track. These Proxy 4s aren't doing the job.

Congrats on the kill, wish that kinda of thing would happen around here. Seems nobody wants to play at the lights anymore. Which I understand why, but if nobody's looking ………

The guys over on the Corvette forum swear by the nitto NT05r for double duty. Should work just as good on a loly Mustang.

This... I saw a GS yesterday and he was playing around until I got up to him. Then he pretended I didn't exist and set his cruise control.

+1 on those NT-01Rs. Same compound as the 555R, just a stiffer sidewall.

Yeah, I have pretty much narrowed it to those or the Toyo R-888s
