yeah, but who cares...it's a maxima, it was probably some guy in a hurry to get groceries.

i knew that the maxima wasnt new, otherwise, i would have assumed that the guy missed a gear, like first, lol. i know my car has about the same horse as around that year maxima, but also, if they have a 3.0, and i have a 3.8, does that make a big difference if the horsepower is even?... or even with a v8, like a 4.6 vs basically thesame engine, but 5.0 .
displacement comes into play after you consider valves per cylinder, head design, intake, exhaust , etc. the nissan motor is a 4 valve dohc since 94 i believe, maybe earlier than that.. nissan builds a helluva motor. i have seen 03 altimas clicking high 13's with a five speed with nismo intake. ford v-8's and v-6's need intake and exhaust to wake up...

The Mustang has a 3.8 with 190 hp 210 ft lbs torque or so and a 5 sp man/4 sp auto designed to get up and go. The 3.0 Taurus has like 170 hp and a 4 sp auto geared to haul people with good gas mileage. You can't compare the two. The 4.6L SOHC motor is different from the 5.0 as the 5.0 is a pushrod engine (isn't it?) The 5.0 was old technology while the 4.6 is newer and has a lot more potential. But that doesn't mean that you can't build one hell of a 5.0 Motor...

The 3.8 has been used in previous model Taurus, also in minivans too. Never did any testing between the 3.0 and the 3.8, but I know the duratec 3.0 would spank the 3.8.
