Default Mishri vs. Riptide

Well sad to say it but it looks like the Mishmeister is still faster than yours truly. I has a disappoint.

Both cars 6R80 automatics.

Riptide:
12.7@110, 2.0 60', 4200' DA Corrected 12.0@116
cai, aed tune, header back o/r exhaust, 1pc ds, 3.15 gears

Mishri:
12.6@110, 1.9 60', 4900' DA Corrected 11.8@117
cai, steeda tune, boss mani, o/r x pipe, 4.10 gears

I thought my tune would give me an edge but it looks like it was pretty much a wash to me.

O.1 on the launch and the big end. Something doesn't make sense though. An 06 with the mods listed shouldn't run anywhere close to a Coyote with gears........6R80 didn't go in the O6......so I suspect you need to update your sig

Darn close race.

Big difference in gearing. Cars are really close though. His 60' did you in.

Yah I updated the sig.

I think his boss mani is what made up for the 700' difference in DA and the gearing is what helped him get out of the hole quicker. That's my theory anyway.

It was mostly in the gearing. Your ratio sucks.

The 6R80 has such a short first gear that it's pretty debatable whether there is a lot of value in going for much more than a 3.31 in these newer cars. Leastways that is what I've read all over the internetz anyway.

Yea I read that nonsense to about the gearing in the hydromatic 6L80 in my wifes Camaro SS. The standard ratio is 3.27 but anyone looking to go fast changes out to either a 3.73 or a 3.90. Usually with great success.

Got to look at the benefit in all the gears too, not just 1st gear.

I'm on the fence. Look at Mishri's car. I don't see a large benefit out of the gearing. It's pretty close. And going from a 3.15 to a 4.10 ought to produce a pretty drastic difference you would think. Yet it doesn't seem to.

I have read that most of the fastest coyote cars are not running 4.10 gears or shorter. Most are 3.15-3.55.
