I'm in a stock 2004 V6 5 speed and I pulled up next to a 95 stock GT. I wasn't going to race him because I know my limitations and I don't race GTs but he kept messing with me. He thought I had a V8, which told me that he knows nothing about cars so I asked him what his specs were. He told me it was a stock auto. Anyway we raced and were pretty much neck and neck which surprised the hell out of me, and by the time the next light came up I was ahead by a bumper. I don't know what the hell was wrong with his car but I didn't even think I had a chance. I'm thinking it's not properly maintained and something about it didn't sound quite right... anyway, it was interesting beating a V8 Stang in a sixer, and I had fun, but I know something was wrong with his car.

 

the 5.0 engines aren't all that fast stock. it being the heavier body style than the fox doesn't help matters any either.

 

So it could have been a legit race then without anything messed up on his car? Maybe I just outdrove him.

 

94/95 GT's are a high 14-low 15 car stock with a 5 speed, autos are worse. They were the slowest years for the 5.0, so yes you have cahnce with a stock one.

 

Good kill. Stock auto 94-95 GTs run mid 15s, which would be a fair run for you.

 

so are the 4.6's more wort while then say a 94-95 5.o

 

define worthwhile.
if you wanna mod stuff on a budget, go with the 5.0

 

whats lighter and suff... and faster 94-95 5.o or a 96 4.6, i guess i should look up the specs. but i would love to be running into 13's with a few mods, but i could always do a rebuild, and gears i guess, and is there any dimensions changed in the 94-95 5.o compared to the 93 and older 5.o

 

like what, 400lbs worth of change or something in the 94/95 5.0.

 

The non pi heads 4.6s were no better than the 94-95 5.0s. The 99-04 4.6 are good motors. Mauals are low 14s and autos are low to mid 14s.
