This guy is about to get a 91 nissan 300z or 300zx. I don't know which one it is. Anyways he says its twin turbo and has 300 hp. He wants to race, and thinks with little money that he would be able to make it super fast... How do people come up with these ideas?

 

He can make it super fast with a little amount of money. Turbo cars are even easier to mod than your supercharged Cobra. With a boost controller, and a little tuning, he'll hand you your ***.

Turbo cars are pretty easy to get good power from. Most have a very conservative tune in them, so with a bit of tuning, some high octane fuel, and an increase in boost they can be mid-high 12's.

 

especially Nissan/Toyota cars. they leave factory with a VERY subtle tune. 300ZX's are kinda light for that big of a car(i think), so, yes, with a MILD tune, he would hand you your a$$ dude. if you race him, do it now b4 he does anything, cuz when he does, youll see his taillights.

 

hey i had a twin turbo 300zx. they can be fast but stock for stock youd beat him by a car length or two. unless he has a boost gauge and a boost controller. stock they can handle a great amount of boost due to forged internals but the turbos are T25 so at about 65mph they will start to crap out because they are outflowing the stock exhaust. if he has a catback dont worry about it. they dont reall help as much as 3" downpipes would

 

Well I saw somewhere it ran like high 13s stock...

 

Regardless of what it ran stock, the question at hand was can it be made fast with a small amount of money. The answer is yes. Where are we going with this now?

Oh im going to race him I just didn't think you could gain like a full second or a second and half with a little $$$. Especially on an older car...didn't know...
