Here's a video of a pass I made last night in the 4.0. Heat and humidity was rough last night. A little over 100* 50%+ humidity when I got to the track. Only good thing is track was hooking like mad. Tried to do my normal 2nd gear cleanoff and the hook nearly threw me through the 60's.
This was right after an oildown so the tires has lost a little pressure sitting. Should have added a couple more pounds or left at higher rpm. Ran mostly low 13's all night a couple high 12's.
lol, does track prep just perform better when its hot as hell outside? I ran my car once when it was 80+ and humid, and no matter what I tried the car just hooked and went without any spinning.
Tracks usually do hook better when its hot. You figure they've been baking in the hot sun all day, so the track holds a lot of that heat on into the night.
Good run, OP. You should be 3-5 tenths quicker this Fall, for sure. Everyone is running slow this time of year.
Went up to Tulsa for Motortrend's Roadkill takes America fun & grudge this Wednesday. Probably the best weather we've seen this summer. 60* temps still a bit humid but a much welcome break from the 90*+.
Best times so far in this car. Feels like I can still squeeze 1 or 2 tenths from my 60's. Last time out I was dead hooking and running 1.9's from bogging down the engine. This time out I was getting a bit too much wheel speed and fighting to keep the car going straight down the track in 1st and few 1st to 2nd shifts.
