im still kinda new to the forum and didnt notice the street/strip section so this was about a month ago and i just got the gears last week. I am in no way calling the GTO's slow there is a BA one runnin around indy with a cam that i would never mess with. This gto may have been an auto but it was still brand new. oh and i will race u gto owners but why dont you wait till spring when i buy my NX kit.

 

If you won, than congrats... I find very hard to believe, but since I wasn't there I'll take your word for it.

Just FYI about the GTO... these cars are like jekyll and hyde. I am not sure if the factory set's this in the ECU or not, but after I hit 5,000 miles on my car it is like the chains broke loose, and this thing is very fast. Prior to the 5,000 mile mark it did appear to be slower. I have heard of many other GTO owners complaining that the car was not as fast as others until they reached that magical 5,000 number. I have had guys asking me what CAM I use, and I tell them it is stock, many do not believe. My only engine mod is a 160 degree stat and a Lingenfelter CAI. So a long story short, is the GTO is a little slower during break-in... but not that much slower.

 

I said that i thought that i would lose cause i know that the 05 GTO is a strong car. The car that i raced may have had less than 5000 but my car does have almost 90k. so mine has some wear.

 

I've only raced one S/C Cobra at the track and I won. I guess the guy couldn't drive because I know quite well that 03-04 Cobra > LS1 Camaro.

And about the race, its no freak accident that someone outdrove someone else. It happens all the time. Nice kill. sidewayz, i agree with your arguement also, you car is faster than a 97 cobra. YOU can beat that car, but that doesnt mean a crappy driver can.

 

i met a guy in my town who basically said the same thing. after his 2nd oil change, the car came to life.

I've beaten EVO's, Camaro's you know whatever, it doesn't matter who should win it matters who does. I always see people bashing others when they post there wins saying "Ohh well if there was a good driver driving that car you would've got smoked" 98% of people on this forum know what cars should beat them, the other 2% are making up stories and feel free to insult them all day long. This is the "Who do you think would win this race" forum it's a street/strip story. I respect all of your opinions and respect the pride you have for the car you drive. We all know what cars will beat us, in a controlled environment, under the exact same circumstances. We don't need 10 people to tell us 10x's over and over again. Keep the peace people, save it for the Ricers, Chevy's and Mopars<--Sorry Goats this is a Mustang Forum, I will say though if I had my choice of car on the muscle revivals it would be the GTO... 2nd to the 05 Roush
