Well I will no longer be stock as of this Thursday...

Right now I am a 04 AUTO GT Stock (Diablo Tune) (the diablo really help'd my shifts... wow)
Yes 100% STOCK lol not this "STOCK" buzz thats been going around lol.
stock everything, even the tires. even the SPARE tire in the trunk lol.
and only have been to the strip once here (practice night out at Speedworld and the track is not prep'd etc as well so Im told on practice nights throughout the weekdays)
first time at any 1/4 mile strip in my entire life.

Ran 14.3-14.7 (obviously the reason for the gap is my more earlier runs, where I was getting a feel etc)
MY 60' times were SOOOOO Gross.... talk about NO TRACTION. (best 60' time was 2.3 I believe)
doesnt help my tires were pretty bald/very bald (yes yes I know, but I was excited to do burnouts in my new mustang)

well Saturday I am going to the track...
and will have my FRRP 4.30's installed
will have my Steeda Alum. Lower Control Arms installed.
and will have my 315/35/17 BF GOODRICH G-Force Drag Radials on my 17x10.5 wheels in the back.
me and my friend are installing these tmrw.
and of course I will Tune it after I have the 4.30s in etc.

So what are you estimates on my time?
I know AUTO doesnt require as much drive skill as a Manny, but I am a "good driver".

So with these things now what do you think I will be putting down?

(as you can see I am building up my suspension and gearing etc... working on getting power to the wheels... and then moving on with the "horsepower/torque mods"

Reason I would like to know is my friend is running High 13's or so...
and he is always on me about racing etc... and this saturday night- its going down lol.

so I will share the following...

Killed a Integra(rice) not sure of mods... I was behind him at the light and he reached out of his window and said lets go for it... So I thought he was talking about after the light changed wed get next to each other--- but he took off (as fast as he could lol) I let him go for a second and then RAPED him lol. (he acted like an ***, so I never got to talk to him about mods)

Killed a Cavalier(nice kid) I saw he has exhaust/tip and some hood etc (and he said he had air intake, exhaust, and short shifter)... so I asked him if he wanted to make a run... he said yeah and it was not even funny lol- I looked in my review at about 5 seconds and he was so far back lol. nice guy tho. not an ***.

Killed Honda Civic - said he had a b18 engine and other basic mods. LOL no competition...to say the least.

Killed Ford Focus SVT- didnt get to talk to him was on a roll on the freeway...

Killed a Prelude VTEC light to light

Killed a v6 mustang with Dual Exhaust and air intake (said he had Mags, and a KandN air intake)

Beat an SRT-4 (closest race have had) I was driving on the street... and all the sudden I hear a BOV behind me LOUD and hes right on my ***.... so I switch lanes... and he does right with me. so next light- its just us at the light (car in between us) but I roll my window down and motion to him and he agrees.... light changes to green- and I pull hard on him... (maybe a car or so?) and i keep that for a while up to about 60 and then his bumper was at about the back of my door/rear fender well... and up to about 75. and we both let off- he gave me the thumbs up and me him and he speed off. I assumed it was stock (due to the win I took from him, but his BOV was LOUD... so I do not know if they are all loud like that or what)

KILLED tons of other RICE that has tried to attempt.(Civics with body kits, Altimas/maximas whatever they are, Accords, and so on)

So yes STOCK mustang GT's still can hold their own on the streets...
ESPECIALLY my area... TONS OF RICERS.

get a converter and drop another .5-.7 off of that www.edgeracingconverters.com

 

You will def. break into 13's with that setup if your car is running properly. A converter will def help you get into the low 13's with your simple mods...

 

You should run 13.7s or so.

Yeah thats what I figured... was something around 13.6-13.8 or so.

and yes a converter is in the mix for sure.

What exactly does a stall converter do ??

 

^It stalls your car up to a certain RPM...
so you can launch at that RPM...

for example a stall at 2,600 RPMS... you can stall at that and then LAUNCH... (obviously you understand the results im sure)

like right now I'm launching at about 1k or so...
anymore and I will just sit and Burn out.
so with this I can launch at a much higher RPM and when I say launch I mean LAUNCH =)
