They're tire smokers though. Didn't they have like 2,000,000 ft lbs of torque?

not so much tire smokers, At least mine wasn't lol. It seemed to have a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeely tall gear in it. It had a 160 speedo in it and I got the thing up to 155 on I-4 between daytona and Orlando at like 2:30 in the morning, Got really scary. What's worse that at that speed it still had about 2-3000 rpm's left before redline lol.

I raced one the other day. He had exhaust and nothing else. I raped him. They are not fast in stock form. You should win.

that still isnt very impressive, even for a smog choked car

lots of big cubic inch cars from the mid 70's put out decent tourque, especialy from such a large engine..

oh well, just imagine what kind of numbers ford chevy and mopar would be pumping out now WITHOUT the years 1973-1985 or so.. there wouldnt have been any crappy years so everyone would still be building off 1970

If it weren't for the ****ing tree hugging hippies, most cars would be 800 hp, 1000 ft lbs, and still chugging leaded gas at 110 octane. You know, back when cars were FUN!

I HATE HIPPIES!!!!

yea for SURE you will win. I raced one in my 6 and I gave him a couple rolls of toilet paper to wipe his newly widened a**hole. I seriouly beat him that bad. The funny thing about it was he got pissed off at me for it, it was some old white trash guy, although his car looked and sounded nice it was deffinately a slow hunk of sh**... Go and kill him and have a good laugh when you are playing with him only punching it half way and still pulling on him. I do this to my friend with a cavalier it is so funny to watch him get pissed

ok, I have a buddy up north who just purchased a 77 trans am. its the t/a 6.6 with a hurst 4-spd shifter. his car is all stock. I live in the south and i have a 04 mustang gt 5spd, which is also stock. He is coming down south in a few months and keeps sayin that he will beat me and that I have no chance on beating him. So who do you think will win????
ha, the TAs had the 455 SD with 400 hp. yank the tires out from under the damn car at 50 in 3rd. one of my buddies has one, stock with a ram-air, bigger scoop and dyno tuned. thing whipped out 500 rwhp. of course, that's the 455. the Formula 400 had the 6.6 and 350 hp and over 400 lb-ft of torque. but if also weighs almost 4000 lbs. you should have him. unless it is the 455 SD, then you better bring some lube, cause you will get raped

Hi,
Well 1st, the t/a 6.6 is an even 200hp, and 325 pound feet of tourque, even though the car weighs alot, it rips tires and smokes them easily, the super duty 455 was NOT an option for that year, nor was a 454. There is NO WAY a stock v-6 mustang would smoke a 6.6 t/a,would not happen unless the driver of the t/a, wasn't sure on how to drive it. Sure there's not alot of hp, but the tourqe was there. If the t/a is modified, i'd watch out, it is not hard to get that car to 325 hp, and 450 pound feet of tourqe. your not racing a cavalier/or civic here. Even though the older t/a's had better, or should I say bigger engines, the 400 is very easily modifeid.
