question
hey I know this is a question but it kind of goes in this section. I have a couple of guys and a buddie willing to race me on the some back roads. Two have Civic's and my buddie has a Probe GT. I have no idea what any of them have under the hood except I know the Probe GT has a stage 2 clutch. They are all willing to bet a couple hundred each that they can beat my 'stang in a race. I am just wondering if I should be afraid or not because I have no idea what they are racing but I am pretty sure I could beat them with a mustang.
I do not own a mustang but am going to be buying a 94-95 GT in about three months and am going to have some modifications on it before I race him. A 408W, stage 2 or 3 clutch, completely new MagnaFlow exhaust, a stage 2 or 3 manual transmission, K&N air intake, forged internals, and a new Nitto tires. Later on in 2006 I will be adding a turbocharger but I don't know if it will be before our after I race these guys. So with this setup do you think I should even take the chance with my money or do I maybe have something to worry about.
Thanks again for all your help.
P.S. I don't know if i forgot anything from the list it has been a long day.

The probe would prolly get beat my a GT with ease... Not many are really known to be quick.. maybe he has nitrous. The Civic.. Unless you know what was done to them I wouldnt really race em for that much cash... cuz if their willing to drop that much cash on a race, they must have some good **** done to the cars or just plain stupid.
This is ridiculus, some guys you know will bet several hundred dollars they can beat your non-existant car? Yes on average a mustang will kill a civic but if these guys are willing to bet that much money, watch out. Ofcourse if youve got the cash to build a turbo'd 408 SN95 with racing tires and all kinds of goodies a few undred bucks on the race shouldn't be a problem.
Sounds silly, but I have seen a probe or two that was pretty quick, for a piece of crap... dunno if they had any work done, but... take it for what its worth. The idea of racing a non-existant car sounds pretty dumb tho... maybe they ARE just stupid?
