how do you figure the GT500 is going to weigh like 3800lbs? i thought they ditched the IRS shat, which was where most of the weight on that cobra was from.
oh well, that GT500 is a pulley swap away from 500RWHP.

I don't doubt it... but I just can't see Ford or Shelby letting the new z06 be THAT much faster, if at all... The way these motors were suppose to work when I first heard about it, it was suppose to be like the 2000 Cobra R... which was a N/A 5.4 making about 385 to the fly... If they're goin to end up takin that plus adding some tech, and forced induction, I can't see it making less then 500hp to the fly... but these days you just never know... I hope they come out with something faster then the new 'vette... Don't crucify me on this, but MOST Z06 owners are as bad as porsche owners

I bet the new GT500 will trap around 115 in the quarter with a great driver. Thats my guess, put it in writing.
I highly doubt the new cobras will trap over 120 in stock form, but look at the gains 03-04 cobras pulled off with bolt ons, orsupercharger swaps. Everything will be ampliefied a little due to the badass flowing heads and higher displacement. I think it would be possible to see 600+ rwhp with bolt ons and a pulley swap in the new cobras.

I'd even venture to put my money on Silver's car against JDaniels. And I'd even give Jdaniel the benefit of the doubt with the traction issue.
So let's put it like this. All things equal with the same driver. Silverbullet > JDaniel.

Well, even without the bottle, I believe you lose either way, but I think it would have been closer if you had left from a dead stop. ALL chevy's (especially THAT one) become monsters in third gear. If you held with him at top end, you might have had a better chance from a dead stop. At least a chance for him to spin the tires before launch. Tough to win if you start at a 40 roll - even if you squeeze. (assuming 75-100 shot)
And I agree with tripsevn7 - we should wait to see what the GT500 does when released. BUT, Ford is also rating the GT500 to the flywheel so it will pull a little less. But we mustang owners have dealt with chevy's forever and know what to do - a pullley swap here, a mod there, a reflash over there, and the GT500 will be good to go.

Current pic of the engine bay, no i dont. I just have one i took a few days after i got it (egr still hooked up, black lid). Ill take some when i get home from chicago on wednesday and post it up or PM you.
Only things that look diff are the MAF, throttle body, solenoids, etc.
