92 prelude
My friend is getting a 92 prelude. He says its a type r but i can only find two models: the "s" base model and the si.
i'm guessing its just a type r badge stuck on it?
also what do these cars typically run in the quarter? he is getting the si with 160hp and 156 ft lbs of torque and a 5-speed. mods are 17 in rims with brand new khumos, catback exhaust and cold air intake.
i was surprised at these numbers actually, especially since the 156 ft lbs are produced at a relatively low 4800 rpms.

The were mid to low 15 second cars, if I recall. I had one in the early 90s. It handled well and was a good daily driver, but it was not fast. The engine was torque for a four, however, and it did produce its torque peak rather low for a Honda, around 4500 RPM.

mmm no.
The Prelude S and Si were 16 second cars. I can't believe you're considering wasting your gas on racing that car, fordguy.
it wasn't that i was worried about him beating me.
i was really just trying to get some background info on it see what it runs...
and just to be clear there is no such thing as a type r prelude right?

There's a prelude S, Si, SH, DOHC VTEC, etc. I don't feel like looking up JDM model Preludes because it'd be irrelvant. But you're safe.

So what you're saying is a car that is heavier than mine, with only 45 more ft lbs is as fast as my car?
mmm no.
