In reality, most of the time a MAch and an LS1 would be a good drivers race, with the advantage going to the LS1.
And stock for stock, an LT1 will destroy a sohc stang. Seen it time and time again. Tehers an articel over on SVT performance right now about how this guyw ith a full botl on GT got beat by his friend and his stock LT1 camaro by a car length.

98LS1 on the board had a stock LT1 that went 13.7's all day. So looks to me like your friends cant drive.

And its funny since you say the Ls1 is superior to the NA 4.6 seeing how my lil 4.6 has put the engine of god in its rearview. (Then again ive seen those Fbody tail lights as well) The engine makes more power yes, but that doesnt automatically make it superior. And remember the engine isnt the only thing, its also surrounded by an entire car.
