Raced an LS1
I would like to trade my Camaro in for a much better-looking TA but I wouldn't get crap on the trade-in: 92k miles, no leather or power options. I looked at a 42k mile 2002 Trans Am with an auto and leather interior that was the same color as my car (pewter) and the dealer wanted $17,995 for it. I would be lucky to get $10k for mine.

Well, I hope you didn't expect to beat an LS1. There still faster then even our new GT.

With my mods, I'm faster than the LS1 M6 GTO(intake, tune) through 1st and second. 3rd gear roll we are dead even, 4th gear the LS1 top end gets me every time. The power band of the LS1 is much better than my stangs. If I get caught slightly out of my power band, my friends GTO pulls a car before I get into the sweet spot of my stang... and I can never get it back
