I had a race tonite on the highway on my way home. I was coming on to the highway and this car come flying up on me. It look like a BMW at first but when it got beside me I saw the hood ordement. Itlooked brandyspanky new type S. the guy look at me and nodded, then he gunned it. I dumped it a gear and reeled him in real quick. I first I thought he wasn't going but the next time he honked three times and I pulled on him instantly.</P>


I thought those cars were quicker then that. but after the second try he never got any closer to me.</P>

Nicwe kill, certaing Jags are pretty fast, not sure which ones. They are made by Ford afterall<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

 

The only three S cars by Jag, that I am aware of, are the 3.0, 4.0, and the type R. The Type R is much quicker than the others, it's ranked right around the GT in 1/4 mile time. The other two are slowww, if you beat him really badly it was probably the first two cars.

3.0 = 16secs
4.0 = 15.5
R = 14.1

Nice kill, I hate jags...never knew they were made by Ford. I now hate them more <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0">. I think Ford probably just owns them, not builds them.<edited><editID>95LT1</editID><editDate>38010.8632291667</editDate></edited>

 

jags are still brit designed with ford power.. there are some seriously fast jags out there though... i raced an amg 55 benzonce(my boss') and was amazed but hey for 112000 i guess i should have been</P>

 

watch out for those m.b. i work on them they some rich *** people most down here got spintec. super chargers. runing 12.00 flat with limited traction.55s are bad in stock forum 13.3 s stock so watch out.

You probably encountered a 3.0 S. I have owned 3 diff Jags in past years XJ6, and 2 XJS 12 cylinders but they were geared really high, top end machines. Not fast in the 1/4 but you wont find a quieter smoother car. The 4.0 S I test drove was absolutely the nicest riding car I ever drove and I have driven most all. Good power but not a muscle car at all. I have not driven a SC Jag yet but guess the gearing is high also.

 

I raced a supercharged V12 jag a while back. One of those older models. I beat it on the interstate, but I guess the times are pretty slow for those tanks.

 

man have you ever pushed a jag. they are heavy..a know..and yes they arn't that fast......
